The second quarter of 2021 was filled with esports events dedicated to both classic and mobile titles. The huge number of competitions directly influenced the performance of the teams. In the new article, Esports Charts will tell you about the most popular organizations from April till June 2021.
Disclaimer. Ranking based on Hours Watched (hours spent by the viewers watching broadcasts of teams belonging to esports organizations) excluding matches in the battle royale genre and viewers from Chinese streaming platforms.
G2 Esports is the fifth most popular organization in Q2 2021. Over their 84 matches, the club's rosters have amassed almost 25.4M Hours Watched. The organization's LoL roster took the third spot at LEC Spring 2021 and did not make it to MSI, while the CS:GO roster received bronze at BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2021.
The fourth spot was taken by the Philippine organization Execration, which specializes in only two disciplines – Dota 2 and Mobile Legends. The ML:BB roster even managed to win at MSC 2021, which is one of the discipline's largest tournaments. Their semifinal match versus EVOS ID was watched by 2.28M peak viewers, setting a record for this tournament series. When comparing the result with other titles, it serves as extra proof that mobile esports is far from being a mere niche thing. Unfortunately, the ML:BB roster of Execration has been disbanded, and its members will now be performing under the Smart Omega tag.
EVOS is the third most popular organization in Q2 2021. It specializes in mobile esports, with its Mobile Legends roster being one of the most popular in the discipline. Such affection from fans earned the Indonesian organization 30.3M Hours Watched, despite EVOS having played only 46 matches over the last 3 months.
The second spot went to the favorites of the League of Legends fans – Koreans DWG.KIA. The organization’s rosters played only 37 matches over the past three months, and the most popular match was the one versus Royal Never Give Up at Mid-Season Invitational 2021, with 1.8M Peak Viewers watching this confrontation.
Team Liquid is in the lead when it comes to the ranking. Over the past three months, the organization has achieved 32.85M Hours Watched. Such a huge number has an explanation – the organization has a lot of rosters for all kinds of games, from the classic disciplines to the mobile titles. When counting the matches of all the rosters over the last three months, it amounts to a total of 207 matches played. The team’s most popular match was the battle versus Version1 at VCT 2021 Stage 2 Masters Reykjavík dedicated to VALORANT – amounting to 748K Peak Viewers.
