We are getting closer to the end of the year, which means we can enjoy some final epic battles of the esports season. This time we take our sharp look at the Clash of Clans World Championship.
The prize pool of the main competition reached an impressive one million dollars. The event itself was hosted at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg.
The slots at Clash of Clans World Championship 2019 were divided into two parts - the first part was distributed among the teams that successfully passed the qualifications and the second slots set was determined by the audience vote. It looks like the organizers tried to attract as many viewers as possible to their broadcasts, without weakening the average level of teams’ performance level.
The viewers' peak for the event reached 41 thousand people. The last time a similar result has been achieved in May - (38 thousand peak spectators).
The average number of viewers was registered at 24 thousand, which exceeds the identical indicator of the most popular qualifications by an impressive 41%.
However, despite an increase in peak and average viewers, the CoC World Championship 2019 numbers are way less impressive in comparison to older mobile esports brothers. The eventual result feels disappointing - the tournament was not able to join the list of the most popular events even within its native “mobile” industry.
