DreamHack Open Summer 2020 became the first significant event after a month of silence on CS:GO pro scene. The players had a rest and entered the battle with renewed vigor, and we'll tell about their results.
As in the case of DreamHack Masters Spring, which we've already discussed earlier, the summer tournament was also held in four regions - Europe, North America, Oceania, and Asia. The first two had a $90,000 prize pool, and the last two gave away $40,000.
They became the most popular team of the competition, and 4,8K viewers watched their matches on average. The Viewers Peak was reached at the final against team Avant and concluded 8,1K simultaneous viewers.
Besides English-speaking viewers from the official Dreamhack broadcast, 3,5K Russian-speaking viewers watched the Oceania battle at the peak thanks to Maincast studio.
DreamHack Open Summer 2020 Asia was held from August 14 to 16, and 4 teams participated in it.
Chinese team Tyloo took the first place, but they didn't become the most popular team of the competition, because they've collected only 3,5K Average Viewers. The fans preferred to watch ViCi Gaming more - 4,2K viewers on average.
The Viewers Peak concluded 9,3K at the finals. The situation was like in Oceania, 4,3K Russian-speaking viewers watched the tournament thanks to two Maincast broadcasts.
German team BIG became the front-runner of the European tournament. The roster changes and constant training brought corresponding success.
The Germans are dominating for half of the year in Europe. They've taken all top spots on all tournaments in which they've participated. Moreover, BIG now is the first in the HLTV CS:GO World Ranking. 5K German-speaking fans watched their matches thanks to the broadcasts of 99Damage studio.
Dreamhack didn't become an exception for BIG, and they've also achieved the desired victory. 53K viewers watched them on average, but team OG has become the most popular team of the tournament, they've overtaken BIG only on 500 viewers.
Surprisingly, team Heroic has become the second at the tournament, though viewers betted more on OG and Complexity Gaming. The reason for such success is their new coach - Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen. The roster presented brand-new gameplay because of him.
Dreamhack is the most popular channel - 55K viewers at the peak. The next one is the famous Brazilian streamer Gaules. He streams almost all CS:GO events for this region and attracts the viewers to them. 27K Portuguese-speaking viewers watched DreamHack Open Summer 2020 Europe only because of him.
We should note that his channel suffered a bit because of the off-season. Gaules streams CS:GO the most, and with the absence of the tournaments, he experienced the decrease of his views.
North America became the most popular tournament of DreamHack Open Summer 2020. 160K viewers at the peak watched the final match of Liquid against Furia. 58% of viewers from that number came from Gaules broadcast.
Alexandre always supports his countrymen. Furia is the most popular team of the event - 71,5K viewers watched their battles on average. Moreover, now they're in 9th place in HLTV ranking.
