The results of WeSave! Charity Play

From March 20 to 26 WeSave! Charity Play online tournament has taken place. 24 teams have participated in it and the goal of the whole event was to collect money and donate them to charity in order to fight COVID-19.

The initial fund of the tournament was $120,000, and at the end of the tournament WePlay! managed to collect $188,880, which will be divided equally and allocated to the CEPI and GlobalGiving funds to develop a vaccine and for medical purposes.

Let's move on to the tournament statistics. The event was held on such streaming platforms as Twitch, YouTube Live, Facebook Live, Dota TV, Nimo TV and VK.


The total Hours Watched number of the tournament was 3,7M hours. The biggest peak was on Twitch - 100,194 spectators, and the total peak of the broadcast was 159,761 spectators, while watching the battle between the finalists of WePlay! MadMoon - Team Secret and Nigma. KuroKy's team has won Team Secret and battled with Team Liquid in the semi-finals. Then team Nigma played against HellRaisers in the finale and has become a true winner of the tournament in the European and CIS regions.

As for the winners of other regions - Evil Geniuses won in the North American region, Thunder Predator are the champions of South America, and PSG.LGD took the 1st place in China.

It should be noted, that not only the matches from the CIS & Europe have appeared in our rank, but also the battle from the Southeast Asia region between TNC and Adroit and the viewers peak was 131,667 spectators.

CIS team HellRaisers has got its minute of glory, by taking second place in our rank by overall hours watched and it is not surprising with such an influx of Russian-speaking viewers.

As for language categories, Russian-speaking viewers are in the first place - 60,421 viewers at the peak of the broadcast, followed by English-speaking viewers - 59,157.

WePlay! was among the first ones in esports community, who organized an online charity tournament. Their initiative was immediately supported by many organizations and teams, which obviously had a positive impact on statistics.

WePlay! itself has shown a decent level, both in visual content and their casters. English cast was represented by such stars as Sheever, ODPixel and Kyle, and among Russian casters there were such guests as Dendi, DkPhobos and Lil.

We want to note some educational videos between broadcasts about COVID-19, it is very important to stay conscious about the virus in such a difficult period for us all.

After the finale of WeSave! organizers announced a new Dota 2 online league - WePlay! Pushka League. It will take place from April 23rd and 14 teams from CIS and European regions will participate in it.
