Worlds 2022 Play-In Round 1 results — DRX advanced to the Group Stage undefeated
Round 1 of the Worlds 2022 Play-In came to an end last weekend, with four teams eliminated from the major League of Legends championship of the year, while two advanced to the group stage and six advanced to Round 2 of the Play-In. Play-In Round 1 Results
Fnatic and DRX proved to be the strongest teams in their groups and won their place in the Worlds 2022 Group Stage. The European team finished the Play-In Round 1 with a 4-1 score, while the Korean team did not lose a single match. In contrast, Chiefs Esports Club and İstanbul Wildcats lost all five matches and finished last in their respective groups. Along with them, Beyond Gaming and Isurus left the tournament with only one and two wins in the Play-In, respectively.
Evil Geniuses, LOUD and DetonatioN FocusMe finished Group A with 3:2 score each. As a result of the tiebreakers, EG made it to the final of Play-In, while the Brazilian and Japanese teams will play against each other one stage earlier, in the Play-In Round 2 semifinals. Royal Never Give Up, the runner-up in Group B with 4 wins and 1 loss, will play against the winner of the MAD Lions vs. Saigon Buffalo match in the Play-In Round 2 final.
Viewership Statistics
On the last day of the Play-In Round 1, the tournament's broadcasts accumulated more than 6.2 million Hours Watched, and the Average Viewers number was almost 740.8K people. The Peak Viewers number amounted to almost 944.8K people reached at the encounter between DetonatioN FocusMe and Evil Geniuses in the final match of the stage.
The tournament's Play-In Round 1 broadcasts totaled more than 26.8 million Hours Watched and drew 749.5K AV. The PV number of the stage was reached on the first day of the game Fnatic vs. Evil Geniuses and exceeded 1.1 million viewers. The most popular channels broadcasting Worlds 2022 at this stage are Riot Games and CBLOL, contributing 31% and 10% respectively to the HW of the tournament.
The most popular team at the end of the stage is MAD Lions, the games of which were watched by 831K AV. Isurus, Fnatic, EG and LOUD are also in the Top 5.
