Major Playoff Day 1 Results
The first day of the playoff was full of interesting matches. In the opening game of the knockout stage PSG.LGD defeated BOOM Esports handily, winning two maps in 33 and 39 minutes. In the second match of the day OG defeated Entity Gaming with the score of 2-1: the two-time TI champion had to comeback after the loss on the first map.
One of the most intriguing matches of the day was the series between Outsiders and Team Spirit. The Eastern European derby was played all three maps, two of which lasted for nearly an hour. In the end Team Spirit won 2-1, despite having to come back from a disappointing start.
In the last match of the day, Team Aster defeated Fnatic 2-0. On the first map, the team from Southeast Asia managed to put up a fight against the Chinese team, but the second map was over in just 20 minutes.

The most popular game on the first day of the playoffs was the series between PSG.LGD and BOOM Esports. It drew 441K Peak Viewers on all broadcasts. By comparison, ESL One Stockholm Major 2022 Day 1 had the highest Peak Viewers number of 378.9K people at the game between Thunder Awaken and BetBoom. The U.S. major surpassed the Swedish tournament by 8.4%.

As for the platforms distribution, the majority of viewers watched the PGL Arlington Major 2022 Playoff Day 1 on Twitch — 309K Peak Viewers at the match OG vs. Entity. YouTube broadcasts had about 78.6K Peak Viewers (PSG.LGD vs. BOOM). As for Facebook Gaming, it reached 52.8K Peak Viewers at the Fnatic vs. Team Aster match. The leader among community-casters on the first day of playoffs was Nix — his channel amassed 622K Hours Watched and drew 88.8K Peak Viewers. Second place went to NS — 310K Hours Watched and 37.5K Peak Viewers. Gorgc became the most popular English-speaking caster, but he lagged behind Nix by 3-5 times by key metrics.
