Bounty Season 1 reached over 22,000,000 Hours Watched, a new BLAST Premier record
The BLAST Premier Bounty Season 1 2025 showed off a brand-new format for Counter-Strike esports. This exciting tourney was one of the most-watched Counter-Strike tournaments of all time, and BLAST’s innovative ideas saw them reach a new watch time record for a single BLAST Premier event.
The first event of its kind from BLAST saw teams earn prize money based on their seeding and individual results, rather than simply final placement. Valve’s new Global Ranking system places a heavy emphasis on prize money won as a marker for team success, meaning BLAST’s new system opens interesting doors for teams who must strategically earn as much as possible. Also, lower-seeded teams at the event are able to choose their opponents from the higher-seeded squads, and teams are re-seeded every match.
The opening days of the Play-In already showed the Bounty formula was a success. Imperial Valkyries, a female squad who were invited thanks to Valve’s new ranking system, choose Major-winners and top competitors NAVI as their first opponent. The fresh idea of allowing teams to choose their opponents enabled rivalries and storylines to thrive at the event, driving viewership to almost 500,000 concurrent viewers for NAVI’s first game against the female Brazilian team.
The playoffs for the first season were rather highly watched, with almost 400,000 Average Viewers recorded for this stage. Not only was BLAST’s new system attracting viewers and generating attention, but the playoffs also featured a diverse spread of teams: from global top competitors, to regional squads from Brazil and Turkey.

In total, viewership for the BLAST Premier Bounty Season 1 2025 settled at 22.29M Hours Watched. This set a new record for the BLAST Premier series, besting the previous record holder, the BLAST Premier Spring 2022. The inaugural Bounty event boosted its watch time by including the Play-In qualifiers as part of the main event; the Bounty Season 1 2025 was the longest BLAST Premier tournament by broadcasting time, although not by much.
In terms of viewership demographics, English and Russian-speaking audiences remained the beating heart of Counter-Strike esports viewership. Portuguese-speaking fans, which include Brazilians, were the next-largest group, but surprisingly, their peak viewership was not recorded during paiN Gaming’s playoffs match against NAVI. While this game did receive over 110,000 Portuguese-speaking viewers at peak, FURIA Esports were markedly more popular among Brazilian fans, and the Portuguese Peak was reached during their game against BetBoom Team.
The Grand Final between Team Spirit and Eternal Fire was the most popular game of the Bounty Season 1 2025 with almost 700,000 Peak Viewers. Naturally, Russian-speaking viewers were highly supportive of Team Spirit’s dominant run to another trophy, but Turkish fans were also out in full force to support the surprising performance of EF. The final match reached a new Turkish YouTube Peak for Counter-Strike esports broadcasting.

Moving on from the highly popular finals, Team Spirit’s semifinal against NAVI was not far behind the leading match. NAVI are consistently one of Counter-Strike’s most-followed and watched teams, and between their popularity and Team Spirit’s own following, this match was the most popular game among both Ukrainian and Russian-speaking viewers.
These passionate regional audiences were at the core of Bounty’s success. The innovative format for Counter-Strike esports excited fans around the globe, and gave teams a place to try out their new rosters or strategies for 2025. Ultimately, BLAST’s innovations paid off and the Bounty Season 1 2025 became the most-watched BLAST Premier event ever.

Most popular BLAST Premier events by total watch time & peak concurrent viewers
The lengthened broadcasting time of the Bounty was naturally crucial for the tournament to reach this top step, but it was still one of BLAST Premier’s most popular events. In terms of average concurrent viewers, a metric not-directly-affected by broadcasting time like watch time, the Bounty Season 1 2025 found itself in the top five most-watched BLAST Premier tourneys. The same was true for peak concurrent viewership, with the Bounty becoming the fifth-most-popular BLAST Premier competition by this metric.
BLAST has restructured their esports calendar for 2025 and brought some fresh ideas to not only Counter-Strike, but the esports industry. Their new Bounty tournament was not only their most-watched tournament ever, excluding the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, but set the stage for thriving Counter-Strike broadcasting this year. BLAST’s next event, the Open Spring 2025, begins in mid-March
