The Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason 2024, part of the ongoing Esports World Cup, was held from July 30 to August 4 at the Boulevard Riyadh City. It broke viewership records, continuing the game's march toward becoming a more globally inclusive offering, which included a worldwide release earlier this year.

One major point of note was that Facebook ended as the event's most preferred live-streaming service thanks to its prevalence in the Asian market, especially in the Southeast region. The organizers also heavily promoted the broadcasts of games on the platform, meaning more interest from its users to see what all the fuss was about. Several influencers were also brought in to cover the action at the venue, including a few who played the exhibition showmatch, helping push the tournament heavily on social media and other forums.

Further expanding on the point about the game's recent global outlook, the KIM 2024 saw English emerge as the most popular language and finish among the three most watched ones. This was mostly made possible thanks to the global release and the subsequent ease of access to the matches via the in-game player for Western audiences, which bodes well for future competitions and their audience reach.

The Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason 2024 pitted the 12 best teams from the first half of 2024 against each other for a prize pool of $3 million. It also featured the debut of the KPL Dream Team, a special All-Star team that acted as the sole representative for China and its top championship, the King Pro League, in Saudi Arabia.
