IEM Rio Major 2022: where and how to watch the tournament

The first IEM Rio Major 2022 CS:GO matches will take place on October 31 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The competition, which has a prize pool of $1.25 million, will feature 24 top teams from the RMR regional tournaments. The IEM Rio Major 2022 winning team will receive $500K, as well as slots to BLAST World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023.

Tournament Format

IEM Rio Major 2022 will have three stages. The eight best Challengers Stage teams will join the eight Legends Stage participants. In these stages, teams will compete in the Swiss system using the Buchholz Factor. The final Champions Stage, represented by a Single-Elimination bracket, will be played by the tournament's eight top teams, and all matches, including the Grand Final, will be played in a bo3 format.

We should remind you that the most popular CS:GO Major at the moment is PGL Major Stockholm 2021, which drew 2.75 million Peak Viewers at the Grand Final between NAVI and G2 Esports. Second place also belongs to PGL's tournament, Major Antwerp 2022. Third and fourth place with almost identical PV number belong to the 2017 and 2018 Majors by ELEAGUE, respectively. At the same time, the Top 5 CS:GO Majors by PV is rounded out by IEM Katowice Major 2019, organized by ESL.
