The group stage of the M3 World Championship, the main event of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, has come to an end. 16 teams played round-robin matches to determine their starting positions in the playoffs. The M3 group stage was on air for 28 hours and amassed 10.5M Hours Watched: the event was only 300K hours behind the M2 group stage. At the same time, the competition set a new record for Peak Viewers of series' the group stage – 1.3M viewers were following the match between Malaysians from Team SMG and RRQ Hoshi, which represents the discipline’s largest region – Indonesia.

The Peak Viewers indicator of the group stage increased by 24% compared to M2. The SMG vs. RRQ match was one of the most spectacular group stage matches, and RRQ's Albert even made the first “rampage” (killing an entire team with one character) at the M3 World Championship. Thanks to epic matches and a huge fan base, RRQ became the most-watched team in the group stage, amassing 656K Average Viewers.

The Russian-language broadcast set a new record in the discipline (13K viewers) during the performance of Natus Vincere on the third day of the event. This is 22% higher than during M2 and 85% higher than during the regional league Mythic League CIS PRO. NAVI managed to make a comeback in the match against See You Soon, one of the strongest Cambodian teams. Perhaps, this time the CIS team will manage to place higher than the 10th spot in the tournament?

As for the new languages, Tagalog (one of the languages of the Philippines) was absent last year, and this year it amassed 275K Peak Viewers. Arabic and Khmer were also added as organizers expand the geography of the game, running the M3 Arabia Major (qualifier for the main event) and establishing the MPL in Cambodia.

The playoff stage will use a tournament system with elimination after two defeats. Matches in the upper bracket will be best-of-5, and the first matches in the lower bracket will be best-of-3. The final will use the best-of-7 format.

The top bracket included representatives of the strongest ML:BB regions with official PRO leagues: Blacklist International, Onic PH (Philippines), RRQ Hoshi (Indonesia), and RSG with EVOS SG (Singapore). Surprisingly, ONIC Esports (the champions of MPL ID Season 8) got into the tournament’s lower bracket instead.
