The second day of the Mid-Season Invitational 2022 group stage has come to an end, so it is time to sum it up. In a new Esports Charts article, we will tell you which teams continued to dominate their groups, and how viewership numbers have changed compared to Day 1.

Day 2 Results

Main favorites in MSI 2022 — T1, G2 Esports and Royal Never Give Up — continued to strengthen their position in the standings. On Day 2 of the group stage, they defeated Team Aze (25:4), Evil Geniuses (24:14) and PSG Talon (18:11), respectively.

Saigon Buffalo, Istanbul Wildcats and Evil Geniuses ranked second in their groups at the end of Day 2. EG beat ORDER 16:5, and it is likely that the situation in Group C will not change: G2 Esports and Evil Geniuses are expected to go to the next stage from 1-2 places.

Meanwhile, in Groups A and B, the battle for second place is in full swing. Saigon Buffalo beat DetonatioN FocusMe 17:17. Istanbul Wildcats were losing to RED Canids throughout the match, but managed to turn the tide. It should be noted that the Brazilian team remained in the lead by a score, although it lost the game — 12:15.

Day 2 Viewership Statistics

MSI 2022 Day 2 matches accumulated 3.1 million Hours Watched, 2.5% fewer than Day 1. The Average Viewers number is 9% fewer, but the Peak Viewers number grew by 12%. The most popular match of the two days of the tournament is the encounter between T1 and Team Aze, which was watched by 809K Peak Viewers.

English and Korean languages became the most popular ones for MSI 2022 broadcasts again, despite their Average Viewers number dropping by 7% and 13%, respectively, compared to Day 1. The number of Vietnamese viewers of the tournament also decreased, but the audience of Portuguese and Chinese streams, in contrast, slightly increased.

The Twitch Peak Viewers number on Day 2 increased by 3% over Day 1. Afreeca TV and Trovo are also up, however, we can't say the same about Facebook Gaming and YouTube.

T1 is the most popular MSI 2022 team at the end of the two days. Team Aze and İstanbul Wildcats are next by Average Viewers. Note that stats on top teams by Hours Watched & AV are available with PRO subscription.
