The PUBG Continental Series 7 has come to an end on the 9th of October, and we finally know all the teams that will attend the PUBG Global Championship 2022, which will take place in Dubai. PUBG Continental Series 7 was held in four different regions, with the tournament having 16 teams in each, batling out for a chance to qualify for the most important PUBG event of the year.
PUBG Continental Series 7 APAC was the most popular tournament, with 113K Peak Viewers, more than double the amount of PV than the second most popular event, tuning in to watch the best 16 teams in the region competing. In the end, it was Daytrade Gaming who came out on top, guaranteeing a ticket to the PUBG Global Championship 2022.
In the second place, we have the Asian region, with 43K Peak Viewers, very far from the numbers achieved in the APAC region. Chinese team NewHappy won the tournament. The European region had a decent viewership with 33K simultaneous viewers tuning in to see the last day of the grand final week, where Question Mark were crowned champions. The Americas tournament, which saw Soniqs come out victorious, was able to reach 28.9K simultaneous viewers and was the fourth biggest tournament of the PUBG Continental Series 7.
Regarding the most watched tournaments, it’s once again the APAC region that takes the first place. The event was broadcasted for 23 hours, and viewers watched it for 1.2 million hours. APAC is clearly the region where PUBG is the most popular, as they topped the list of both metrics.
PUBG Continental Series 7 Europe had the biggest broadcast time, being aired for 66 hours. Viewers watched the event for 994K hours, and while it had more than two times the airtime of the APAC region it wasn’t able to reach the 1 million mark. With 672K Hours Watched the Asia tournament comes in third place on this list, while the Americas event was watched by viewers for 500K hours.

PUBG Continental Series past 5 editions Peak Viewership comparison
When compared to the ten most popular or most watched previous tournaments of the series, only the PUBG Continental Series 7 APAC is able to enter both lists, claiming the third spot in both metrics. Series 7 Europe became the ninth most watched event of the series, with all the remaining tournaments not being even close to making the list in both metrics.
If we compare the Series 7 viewership numbers with the previous edition of the event, we can see that only the APAC and the Asian regions were able to increase their audience. Viewership for APAC went up by 9%, while the Asian peak viewership increased by 2.7%. Despite that, for the Asia region, this was the second least popular tournament of the past five editions of the competition. All the remaining events saw a viewership drop, with Europe losing 47.3% of their peak viewers, the biggest drop in viewership of all events, while the Americas region had a 9.6% decrease. Similar to the Asian region, Series 7 Europe was the second least popular edition of the past five, having less 30K PV than Series 6.

PUBG Continental Series past 5 editions Hours Watched comparison
In the Hours Watched department, the APAC region had a slight decline of 4,73% compared to the previous competition, and is far from the number of hours watched the event had in its 5 edition. Contrary to APAC, Europe had a significant increase in hours watch, with the number going up 37%, mainly due to the fact that this edition had more than double the airtime of the previous one. It became the second most watched competition since the third edition of the event. The number of hours watched in the Asia region also increased slightly, going up 3.5%, but it's still very far from the numbers achieved in Series 3,4, and 5 of the event. Just like APAC, the Americas region also experienced a small drop of 9.6% in hours watched.
Only the Americas region had a significant drop in viewership, having fewer hours watched and Peak Viewers than in the previous edition. APAC was able to reach a higher number of Peak Viewers but saw a drop in the number of hours watched, even if a small one. Europe did the reverse of that, having more hours watched, but less PV. The Asian region was the only one that saw an increase in both metrics and was able to reach a wider audience than the previous edition of the event. While the Americas region is on a clear decline, the remaining regions were able to achieve some good numbers in at least one of the metrics compared to the previous editions, but are still far from the golden days of the PUBG Continental Series.
