The Monsters Attack! Championship, the Teamfight Tactics world championship held by Riot Games and GGTech, ended on May 28. It became the most popular in the discipline's esports ecosystem in terms of viewership, and the Vietnamese viewers as well as community casting by Kamet0 helped in achieving the record.

The Monsters Attack! Championship featured 32 players from Europe, North America, China, Brazil, Japan, and Southeast Asia, who all qualified from their respective regions. Participants played a series of matches in a single group, after that the eight strongest players played another series of five matches to determine the winner. Comparison of Monsters Attack! Championship with Other Tournaments

Usually, the competitive season of Teamfight Tactics has two major online tournaments. In 2022, these were Gizmos & Gadgets and Dragonlands, with a prize pool of $300K and $456K respectively. The Monsters Attack! Championship is the first major tournament of 2023. Each tournament is preceded by qualifying stages in several main regions, including EMEA, North America, Brazil, South Korea, China, and others.

Looking globally, Teamfight Tactics has the most fans in Asian countries, with players from China and South Korea being the most successful in the discipline. Teamfight Tactics is also popular in Europe, particularly in France. There are also some notable players from North America and Brazil.

Many Teamfight Tactics players compete independently, without the support of major organizations. However, some top clubs have representatives in the discipline who often juggle the roles of both players and streamers. These clubs include Team Liquid, Karmine Corp, Cloud9, Invictus Gaming, and others. It is not uncommon for players from other disciplines, such as Hearthstone, to participate in Teamfight Tactics tournaments.

The Monster Attack! Championship has become the most popular tournament in the history of Teamfight Tactics in terms of Peak Viewers. It surpassed all official championships and fell behind only Twitch Rivals TFT Showdown 2019, which featured dozens of top streamers. It should be noted that the last best concurrent viewership result lasted almost three years: the TFT Galaxies Championship matches attracted 118.3K PV.

Looking beyond the discipline, the Teamfight Tactics championship has also surpassed other popular auto battler tournaments.

Currently, auto battlers are a very niche genre in esports that is difficult to compete with traditional shooters or MOBAs. Its heyday was in 2018-2019, when all the main representatives of the genre were released, including Dota Underlords and Hearthstone Battlegrounds.

Of all the representatives of the genre, Teamfight Tactics is the most successful in terms of viewership as an esports discipline. Top TFT championships regularly attract tens of thousands of viewers, with their audience usually exceeding the viewer numbers of Hearthstone BG events multiple times over.

The next major tournament for Teamfight Tactics will be held from 8th to 10th December in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand. This will be the first LAN event for the discipline in North America. Anyone who wishes to participate in the competition will be able to do so, but he or she will have to qualify beforehand. Details to be revealed later.
