PGL Masters Bucharest 2025: Almost 350,000 viewers watched Aurora Gaming clinch biggest LAN title
The ongoing PGL season for Counter-Strike 2 concluded with the PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 on November 2, marking a significant moment for Aurora Gaming. The Turkish giant finally clinched a notable LAN trophy after a marathon best-of-five series that peaked at almost 350,000 viewers, helping its star rifler add a missing accolade to his cabinet as well.
This Tier 1 CS2 event featured $1.25 million in total prize money and brought together 16 of the world's top teams, selected through the VRS ranking system. However, there was some controversy before a match was even played.
Initially, the last few PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 matches were ending a day before the prestigious IEM Chengdu 2025 began, making it almost impossible for teams to participate in both events. As a result, most of the sides ranked in the top ten on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) decided to skip the Romanian affair, meaning a lot of the eventual participants were ranked outside the top 20.
Only Astralis, HEROIC, 3DMAX and paiN Gaming decided to sign up for both prominent tournaments.

Nevertheless, the action fans witnessed was solid enough for the Grand Final to attract 349,162 Peak Viewers. And what a series it was, as Aurora Gaming and Legacy, two rising names in the competitive CS2 scene, battled for six hours before the former emerged as the victor by a 3:2 scoreline.
The quality on display meant the match doubled the peak concurrent viewership of any other series at the PGL Masters Bucharest 2025. In fact, Aurora Gaming and Legacy were part of each of the five most popular games at this season-ending CS competition.
Moreover, Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş created some personal history with this triumph. He clinched his first Most Valuable Player (MVP) award at a LAN tournament after finishing as the third-highest rated player at the event overall and the top-rated pro in the Grand Final.
It was also a productive outing for Legacy, which claimed only its second top-two finish at a Tier 1 competition. The rapidly improving Brazilian esports organization's best finish in Counter-Strike esports remains a win at the CS Asia Championships 2025, which was also hosted by PGL.

With another prominent tournament concluding and signifying the end of PGL's 2025 season, the focus shifts to other top-tier events on the Counter-Strike esports calendar. The IEM Chengdu 2025 will be followed by the BLAST Rivals Fall 2025, before the second Major of the year, StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, rolls into view.
