Wild Rift Origin Series 2021 is the first League of Legends: Wild Rift esports venture for teams from Europe, MENA, CIS, and Turkey. In the new article, Esports Charts will describe the results of the finals and compare the performance with other esports disciplines.

Throughout the summer, Riot Games ran regional tournaments that allowed teams to qualify for the final competition.

The playoffs of Origin Series took place on September 24-26 and amassed 109K Hours Watched. The match between Team Queso and Rix.GG was watched by 19.7K Peak Viewers.

Viewership stats of Wild Rift Origin Series 2021 Championship

The event was broadcast on three platforms: Twitch, YouTube, and VK. Twitch contributed the highest percentage of Hours Watched (73%). For the mobile discipline, this is rather odd, given that viewers usually tend to spectate mobile games on YouTube or Facebook.

Team Queso from Spain took first place in the top of the most popular teams of Wild Rift Origin Series 2021 Championship. They were watched by 9.9K Average Viewers. The second spot was taken by Rix.GG from Britain. While we know Unicorns of Love and Natus Vincere from the LCL (the regional esports league of the PC version of League of Legends), these teams are yet to reach the first spots in terms of popularity.

We have compared the results of the Origin Series to the CIS Mythic League in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. These tournaments follow different formats, as the ML:BB league has been on the air for a while, but its finals have recently taken place – and so we want to highlight the final indicators for the competitions. Mythic League is leading in terms of Hours Watched due to its long duration, but it attracted half as many Peak Viewers in the finals. As we can see, LoL:WR and ML:BB have a strong rivalry in the MENA region.

Team Queso are the winners of the Wild Rift Origin Series 2021 Championship. They received €84K and a spot in the Horizon Cup.

Horizon Cup is the first major international event of the discipline, taking place on November 13-21. Ten teams from all over the world will compete there for half a million dollars. The tournament will be held in LAN format at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. Note that this is not the discipline’s version of the World Championship, but rather the initial stage on the path to international competition.
