PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2025 recorded its highest peak viewership in five years

Last weekend in Thailand, PUBG United came to an end, marking the conclusion of the first month-long esports festival of its kind, featuring the season-ending tournaments for both PUBG (PC) and PUBG Mobile. Both events delivered strong viewership results, while the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2025 stood out by becoming the most popular tournament in the series in almost five years.

Thailand hosted this year’s PUBG Mobile Global Championship, with the League Stage held in Samut Prakan, on the outskirts of Bangkok, and the Grand Finals taking place at the iconic Siam Paragon shopping mall in the city center. After three weeks of competition, the championship title and $555,000 in prize money were claimed by Brazil’s Alpha7 Esports.

Despite a shaky regular season, Alpha7 delivered a standout performance when it mattered most, peaking at the year’s final event. The win secured the organization’s second tier-S title, adding to its earlier success at the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2024.

Overall, the tournament maintained excellent viewership throughout its run, averaging nearly 375,000 concurrent viewers across close to 72 hours of live gameplay. This result represents the highest average viewership for the series since 2021.

The most notable milestone, however, came at the peak. For the first time in almost five years, the series crossed the one million concurrent viewers mark, with the tournament reaching over 1.3 million Peak Viewers. The peak occurred during Round 16 of the 18-round Grand Finals, a decisive moment in the battle for the final top-three positions.

The most-watched tournament in the series, and across PUBG Mobile esports as a whole, remains the debut PUBG Mobile Global Championship Season 0, which peaked at over 3.8 million concurrent viewers. How the event reached such a landmark result is explored in our full analysis.

Unlike most esports titles and tournaments, PMGC 2025 stood out for its unusually diverse viewership across platforms and, in particular, languages. The largest single language audience made up only 22% of total watch time, while ten different language groups each contributed at least 3% to the overall figure. From an all-time perspective, the PMGC 2025 stands as the third most popular tournament in PUBG Mobile esports history. It trails only the still-unreachable PMGC Season 0 and narrowly falls short of the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025, which took place in Riyadh as part of the Esports World Cup earlier this year.
