Some mobile esports scene are real competitors to desktop games. Major ML:BB tournaments easily attract several million viewers, which not all top disciplines can boast of. In a new article, Esports Charts talks about the most popular mobile championships in 2022.
The most popular mobile tournament of the year was the ninth season of MPL Indonesia, which was followed by over 2.84 million concurrent viewers. At the same time, the tenth season of the league took the third place in the rating with a result of 2.8 million concurrent viewers. There’s little surprise in such results, since Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is one of the biggest video games in Indonesia.
The top 4 also includes two more MLBB tournaments. Southeast Asia Cup 2022 and 31st Southeast Asian Games attracted over 2.8 million and over 2.2 million concurrent viewers, ranking second and third, respectively.
On the fifth line of the ranking with a result of almost 1.48 million viewers at the peak is the Free Fire World Series 2022 Sentosa, the only battle royale championship from Garena in the top. Recall that in the spring of this year, the game was blocked in India, because of which it lost a huge part of the fans.

The peak audience of the other tournaments in the top 10 was less than 1 million viewers. The sixth place was taken by the PUBG Mobile championship held as part of the 31st Southeast Asian Games event, over 903K people followed it at the same time. Another tournament in this discipline, PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021 Finals, closed the top 10 with a score of 646.6K concurrent viewers.
6-9 positions in the rating are occupied by three more ML:BB events. MPL Philippines Season 10 attracted 829.3K viewers at its peak, ONE Esports MPL Invitational 2022 attracted almost 704.3K, and IESF World Championship 2022 drew 671.87K.
