Twitch Rivals is an official competitive project of Twitch that has been quite a success from its inception. The very first event of the series, which took place in February 2018, attracted over 347K concurrent spectators and initiated the still ongoing tournament series loved by viewers and content creators.

Twitch Rivals x Riot Games Summer Rumble
The Twitch Rivals tournament in partnership with Riot Games took place in June 2021, featuring 150 content creators from 10 different European countries taking part in battles across some of the Riot Games’ most popular titles, namely League of Legends, VALORANT and Teamfight Tactics.
In 22 hours of Air Time, the event generated more than 4.3M Hours Watched, breaking the record as the second best-performing Twitch Rivals event so far and placing as the top Twitch Rivals event of 2021 by HW. On average, 196K people tuned in to watch the competition.
At its peak, 299K concurrent viewers spectated the event, with the official Twitch Rivals channel reaching 33K Peak Viewers. The biggest viewership contributor was Turkish streamer Kendinemuzisyen, who gathered 51K Peak Viewers and 565K Hours Watched.
Twitch Rivals Ultimate Challenge, Live from Vegas
The second best-performing Twitch Rivals event of 2021 (by both HW and PV) was the LAN competition that took place in Las Vegas in early November. This was the first LAN event of the series since the start of the pandemic, with a format quite different from usual.
The contestants not only played video games but also participated in a variety of challenges, such as building block towers, shooting with improvised catapults and jumping on trampolines in funky costumes, among other things.
The event, which featured the likes of xQc, sodapoppin, Myth, HasanAbi and other top-tier content creators, accumulated 2.48M Hours Watched, having placed as the eighth best-performing Twitch Rivals event so far. Its audience accounted for 341K Peak Viewers and 245K Average Viewers.
Twitch Rivals x Call of Duty World Series of Warzone NA #1
At first, the introduction of Call of Duty: Warzone initially raised many questions, as it was not clear whether the discipline would be able to gain a foothold in presence of already successful battle royales. In the end, these concerns proved to be unjustified, as the first events of the Twitch Rivals x Call of Duty World Series of Warzone in June ignited quite a hype around the game.
With 1.9M Hours Watched and 441K Peak Viewers, the North American version of the event became the third most-watched Twitch Rivals event of 2021 by HW, as well as the best-performing event of the year by PV. On average, 349K viewers tuned in to spectate
the $300 000 competition. The event’s top channel was the Timthetatman’s one with 81K Peak Viewers.
Twitch Rivals Ludwig’s Fall Guys Event
The Top 3 of most popular Twitch Rivals events of 2021 by PV concludes the Ludwig’s Fall Guys championship, which took place by the end of October and was attended by 59 of the top English-speaking content creators.
The tournament was on air for 4 hours and generated over 1M Hours Watched, peaking at 315K concurrent viewers. The most popular streamers of the event were xqcow (126K PV), loltyler1 (39.9K PV) and Ludwig, who had 22K Peak Viewers on his channel. The $50 000 event attracted 258K viewers on average.
Language distribution

The analysed statistics show that Twitch Rivals’ audience was fairly diverse in 2021. All events within the series generated cumulatively more than 58M Hours Watched, out of which 31.9M (54.9%) was brought in by English-speaking viewers.
The second most prevalent language among the Twitch Rivals spectators was Spanish, which accounted for 7.3M (12.6%) of the total HW. The third was French, followed by Portuguese, German, Russian, Italian and Turkish.
New record in 2022
Although the new year has just started, the Twitch Rivals has already managed to break its own record, as the recent Twitch Rivals Squidcraft Games ft. Komanche hit the mark of 1.18 Million Peak Viewers and became the most popular Twitch Rivals event of all time thanks to the participation of multiple popular Spanish streamers. With the bar set this high, the new year might potentially see more viewership records within the Twitch Rivals series.
