VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo, a big Valorant tournament, is slowly coming to its conclusion. 1/8 Omega group matches were played over the weekend of February 25-26. Esports Charts has calculated how many viewers followed the weekend's event.
LOCK//IN is the first official tournament of the VCT 2023 season (Valorant). It offered a $500K prize pool and an additional regional slot at the upcoming Masters championship. Moreover, LOCK//IN allowed fans to get their first impression of the balance of power of the Valorant esports scene in the new season.
Weekend Match Results
On February 25, two matches were played in the Ro16 stage of the single-elimination bracket: Natus Vincere defeated Team Secret and Leviatán knocked out Team Vitality. Both matches ended with a 2-0 score. The next day, February 26, there were two more matches: 100 Thieves defeated FUT Esports 2-1, and Fnatic did not lose a single map to FURIA Esports.

When it comes to viewership over the weekend, a Peak Viewers number on Sunday was higher than on Saturday. The series between Fnatic and FURIA Esports became the most popular game, attracting 535.7K Peak Viewers.
English, Portuguese and Spanish became the most popular languages of broadcasts last weekend. Peak Viewers numbers of these languages were recorded on the days when teams from their respective regions played. For example, Spanish broadcasts reached its PV number on February 25 when Leviatán played — most of its players are from Chile, where Spanish is the official language. VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo ends in 4 days of matches, but we can already draw some interesting intermediate conclusions. First of all, the tournament has not yet managed to reach a million Peak Viewers. The most popular game at the moment is the series between NRG and LOUD, which was watched by more than 883K PV. However, there's a good chance that this bar will be reached in the semifinals or finals.
Sentinels became the most popular team by Average Viewers, attracting 613K AV. It should be noted that this team left the tournament after the first round, when it lost to Fnatic. The early elimination of Sentinels will certainly affect the total number of viewers at the tournament, because it is one of the most popular and mainstream teams in North America.
At the time of publication, the most popular matches of the tournament are those between teams from the Americas and EMEA. Matches with representatives of Asia (Pacific) attracted significantly fewer viewers. This is largely due to the inconvenient time zone to watch the matches and poor results of the representatives of the region.
