BLAST Premier Spring European Showdown 2022 Qualifiers: Viewership Stats and Tournament Results

In addition to the main seasonal tournaments and the world final, the BLAST Premier tournament system also features intermediate Showdown championships with the participation of little-known teams from different regions worldwide. It is possible to enter such tournaments through qualifiers organized by BLAST partners: fantasyexpo, E2Tech, FiReLEAGUE, and others. Liga Ace Esports, and MESA became the new tournament operators responsible for holding the spring season qualifiers.

In 2022, the Showdown tournaments are divided into two regions (Europe and America) with eight teams each, and the champions of each of them made it to the BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2022. The last qualifier for the American Showdown (Ace North American Masters: Spring 2022) will end on April 6, and in today's article, we will take a look at the results of the European qualifiers.

MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2022

MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2022 is the only European Showdown qualifier that was played on LAN. The final part of the competition was held at the Steppe Arena in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. Not only local players, but also representatives from Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and even South Korea were among the participants of the event.

Interestingly, 20M tugriks ($7.8K) in the form of NFTs were raffled among the spectators present at the arena, along with the main prize – a trip to Poland.

Mongolian Esports Association (MESA) is an esports association of Mongolia that has been promoting the development of the esports industry in the country since 2003 and is a member of the International Esports Federation (IeSF).

It is noteworthy that Pelaajat.com Nordic Masters Spring 2022 featured not only young and little-known players, but also many legends of the Swedish scene, including flusha, JW, f0rest, and Lekr0.

The strongest team of the event was the Copenhagen Flames, consisting of three young talents and two more experienced teammates. It is curious that it was this team that eliminated the above-mentioned legends of the Swedish CS:GO scene from the tournament. Copenhagen Flames defeated Dignitas in the semi-finals and outplayed hellslayerz in the grand final.

Pelaajat.com Nordic Masters Spring 2022 generated almost 96K Hours Watched and 3.6K Average Viewers. The grand final between Dignitas and Copenhagen Flames was watched by 10.8K Peak Viewers, becoming the most popular match of the tournament. At the same time, the most viewed team was hellslayerz, whose matches generated 54.5K Hours Watched (57% of the event’s total indicator). Broadcasts in English and Finnish were the most popular among viewers.

TWR Eastern European Masters Spring 2022

Taking part in this qualifier from The War Room were the teams from Eastern Europe. Perhaps it is the Eternal Fire that boasts the most famous players in its roster, being represented by the most famous Turkish players: XANTARES, woxic, and Calyx. However, the stellar roster ended up taking only the 3rd-4th spots in the tournament.

The Bad News Eagles team, almost entirely composed of representatives of the Republic of Kosovo, became the champion of the qualifier and obtained a slot at the European Showdown. This is curious because big esports features pretty much no natives of this particular country.

In total, TWR Eastern European Masters Spring 2022 generated more than 147K Hours Watched and 5.7K Average Viewers. The most popular match of the event was the semi-final match between Eternal Fire and SKADE, which was followed by almost 17.3K Peak Viewers. At the same time, Eternal Fire attracted the most attention from the audience, generating 94.7K Hours Watched (64% of the tournament’s total indicator).

As part of the qualifier organized by E2Tech, both the Hispanic and Portuguese-speaking teams fought for a slot at the European Showdown. The champion of the Major was also found among the participants. Together with his current team 00Nation, the Brazilian confidently reached the grand final, but Movistar Riders still came out on top.

The grand final between Movistar Riders and 00Nation was the most popular match of the tournament, being followed by almost 23.5K Peak Viewers. RTP Arena Spring Cup 2022 generated a total of 143.4K Hours Watched and 6.6K Average Viewers. Movistar Riders were the qualifier’s most-watched team with 86.2K Hours Watched (60% of the event’s total).

Fantasyexpo EU Champions Spring 2022

This qualifier was the last one and found among its participants were such eminent teams as ENCE and Fnatic. Note that at the time of publication, the roster of the Finnish organization is in the top 10, and the roster of the Swedish one is in the top 20 teams worldwide according to HLTV.org.

ENCE became the champion of Fantasyexpo EU Champions Spring 2022 by beating Apeks in the grand final. At the same time, Fnatic did not show its best performance and did not even qualify for the playoffs.

The roster of the Finnish club attracted the most attention from the audience and generated 47.4K Hours Watched for the tournament, which is 55% of the total event.

RTP Arena Spring Cup 2022 became the leader in almost all metrics among qualifiers for BLAST Premier Spring European Showdown 2022: it lost only to TWR Masters in terms of HW. In turn, MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2022 was the least popular among viewers on streaming platforms.
