Six of the seven qualifiers for Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2022, which will be held in December, have ended. Esports Charts team has summed them up and calculated the number of viewers in the regions.

Qualifiers for Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2022 took place in Europe, North America, Latin America, India, Japan and Southeast Asia. In China, qualifiers will end on October 15. This article covers the results of all qualifiers except the Chinese one.

The most watched qualifier was Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2022 Garena Finals, which featured teams from Southeast Asia. The qualifying matches accumulated 219K Hours Watched. The Average Viewers number was 4.8K, and the Peak Viewers number was 14.2K (the highest of any region). It is important to note that the large number of HW is attributed to the duration of the stage: the qualifiers in this region were broadcast for more than 45 hours, 2-3 times longer than in other regions. The main broadcast languages are English (8K PV) and Filipino (6.4K PV). The distribution by platform was very even — 7.7K and 7.5K people on YouTube.

The best result in terms of AV was shown by Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2022 North America, 5.2K AV who watched the broadcast of the matches. At the same time the stage showed the second result for PV after Southeast Asia — 7.8K viewers. The North American matches are inferior to the stage in Latin America by HW, but only due to the shorter duration of the tournament.

The metrics of Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2022 Europe are two times lower than the above-mentioned regions on average. The qualifiers in India and Japan attracted the smallest number of viewers. There the AV number on the broadcasts was slightly above a thousand people, and the maximum reached 2.2K and 1.6K people, respectively.

Comparison With Last Year

In 2021, there was a different format for World Championship qualification, but comparing the main regions, you can see a significant decline in viewership. For example, the current Garena Finals qualification is behind last year's qualification in all major metrics. HW (-49%), AV (-54%), and PV (-75%).  

The European qualification also saw significant decreases in AV (-35%) and PV (-35%) compared with last year. The situation is similar in Latin America (-38% of PV -54% of AV) and Japan (-70% of PV and -63% of AV). The only exception is the qualifier in North America — it managed to slightly increase last year's metrics: +20% of PV, +20% of AV. The number of HW increased by 80%, but we must take into account that this year's American qualification lasted 1.5 times longer.

The number of Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2022 qualifiers viewers decreased significantly compared with last year. Audience reach increased only in North America, where the Call of Duty franchise is especially popular with local gamers. In other regions, such as Southeast Asia, there is very high competition among mobile titles, where Call of Duty Mobile is significantly behind Free Fire, PUBG Mobile and other games.

Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2022 matches are scheduled for December 15-18 in Raleigh, USA. The prize pool of the tournament is $1.7 million, and 16 teams from seven regions will compete for it. We should remind you that Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2021 was canceled last year — there were two separate online finals West and East instead.
