C.O.P.A. Free Fire ends among most popular mobile esports events in early 2026
The C.O.P.A. Free Fire 2026, which served as a warm-up tournament for the more intense regional leagues and global championships to come, concluded on February 22. It peaked at just over 152,000 concurrent viewers to figure among the new season's most popular mobile esports tournaments.
This prominent Free Fire tournament brought together 24 of the South American heavyweights' best sides, with Fluxo retaining its title. The participants did battle across three stages, with the 12 most consistent teams duking it out in the Grand Finals for a prize pool of nearly $20,000, which was distributed only among the top four finishers.

The C.O.P.A. Free Fire 2026, the second most prominent Free Fire event title held by Garena in Brazil, reached 152,118 Peak Viewers (PV) during Round 16 of the Grand Final. This was the final map of the finals, and Fluxo was able to confirm back-to-back triumphs at this event with its second straight Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.
The 2024 world champion, going by Fluxo W7M this season after entering a partnership last December with another popular Brazilian esports organization in W7M Esports, collected 192 points across 16 matches. The side secured three Booyahs and notched 94 eliminations, helping it edge SX10 by eight points and become richer by $9,656.
Other renowned names like LOUD and Alpha7 Esports also performed well, together clinching three Booyahs in the Grand Final to finish in the fourth and fifth spots. In fact, games 10 and 11 ended among the most popular matches in this competition, thanks to LOUD, founded by the famous creator Bruno "PlayHard" Oliveira, clinching wins on both maps.

The C.O.P.A. Free Fire 2026 also continued the series' recent upward viewership trajectory. It was more or less the same PV figures as those reached during the 2025 edition, which itself was a big improvement over the preceding two years after the event got off to a strong start in 2020 during the mobile battle royale shooter's pandemic heyday.

This competition also broke into the five most popular mobile esports tournaments list for the year. The record-breaking M7 World Championship is way ahead at the top of this table, but the diversity and highly competitive nature in the genre can be seen in the fact that four games populate the top five here. This includes the world championship of MCGG, the multiplayer strategy auto battler mobile game derived from Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
Brazil's Free Fire scene remains one of the game's strongest esports pillars, and that was seen once again at the C.O.P.A. Free Fire 2026. The event gave fans an early look at the teams that will stand out in the early season, even as they prepare for more crucial challenges like the Free Fire World Series - Brazil 2026 Split 1.
