EMEA Masters Summer 2025 recap: Final falls flat without Los Ratones
While the world’s top League of Legends teams battled for the 2025 World Championship title in China, France held the EMEA Masters Summer 2025, the premier tournament for national league champions.
The European event drew a solid broadcast audience, though it lagged behind the season’s biggest tournament. The gap might have been smaller if fan-favorite Los Ratones had made it to the final. Esports Charts has recapped the tournament and highlighted key viewer trends.
Los Ratones entered the EMEA Masters Summer 2025 as the clear favorite, having won similar tournaments in both the winter and spring seasons earlier this year. However, Martin “Rekkles” Larsson’ squad fell short of a three-peat — they were decisively beaten by Karmine Corp Blue in the playoff semifinals, with Karmine Corp Blue ultimately claiming the tournament championship.
Winning the EMEA Masters Summer 2025 marked the French club’s fifth trophy in the series. The first four had been claimed by Karmine Corp’s main roster before their move to the LEC, making this latest title the first for the team’s academy.
EMEA Masters Summer 2025 Viewership Results and Trends

The EMEA Masters Summer 2025 matches racked up over 4.6 million total watch hours. The broadcasts averaged 57,300 viewers, with a peak of 265,000 watching at the same time.
The most-watched match of the tournament was the semifinal between Karmine Corp Blue and Los Ratones. In contrast, the grand final featuring Karmine Corp Blue and the Spanish squad Los Heretics (Team Heretics’ academy) peaked at just 137,800 viewers, failing to crack the top five most-watched matches of the tournament.
Compared to earlier tournaments in the series, the EMEA Masters Summer 2025 was the least popular. It fell short of the EMEA Masters Winter 2025 and Spring 2025 across all major metrics: total watch hours, average viewership, and peak concurrent viewers. Overall, the league has been trending downward in audience engagement since the winter season. For instance, average viewership dropped by half from winter to spring and then fell another 35% by summer.
The reasons for this drop are clear: with Los Ratones failing to reach the final, the tournament’s marquee match wasn’t streamed by Marc Robert “Caedrel” Lamont, the most popular League of Legends community caster and co-owner of the club. On days when his team played earlier in the tournament, Caedrel’s broadcasts had consistently been the top draw in viewership.
The second factor is timing: the EMEA Masters Summer 2025 matches overlapped with the 2025 World Championship. Even though the tournaments were in different time zones, they still ended up competing for viewers’ attention.

The EMEA Masters Summer 2025 ranked as the fourth most popular tournament in the series’ history since the name and format change. The 2025 Winter tournament still holds the audience crown, marking Los Ratones’ debut and peaking at over 486,100 viewers.
Europe’s premier League of Legends tournament has wrapped up, but the title of the world’s best team this season is still up for grabs at the 2025 World Championship. The grand final between T1 and KT is set for November 9. Match results and viewership stats can be tracked on the Esports Charts report page.
