EWC 2025: Full overview of prize pools and games lineup

The Esports World Cup has held its place as the premier event in competitive gaming for years. In 2025, it expanded even further, with new titles added to the lineup and a total prize pool reaching over $70.000.000. In this article, we’ll break down which games are setting new financial records in Riyadh and which ones had to dial back their expectations.

The total prize pool for the 2025 Esports World Cup jumped from $62.500.000 to $70.450.000 compared to last year, thanks largely to the expanded Club Championship prizes.

The 2025 Esports World Cup will feature 25 tournaments across 24 games, with nearly $43.500.000 in prize money at stake. 

EWC 2025 Tournament Games:

• Apex Legends;

• CrossFire (new game);

• Free Fire;

• Overwatch;

• Rocket League;

• Valorant (new game);

• Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (new game);

• Call of Duty: Warzone;

• Dota 2;

• Honor of Kings;

• PUBG;

• PUBG Mobile;

• Rennsports;

• Chess (new game);

• EA Sports FC25;

• League of Legends;

• StarCraft II;

• Counter-Strike;

• Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves (new game);

• Street Fighter 6;

• Tekken 8;

• Mobile Legends: Bang Bang;

• Teamfight Tactics;

• Rainbow Six Siege.

Meanwhile, Fortnite and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III have been removed from this year’s roster.

• CrossFire: $2.000.000;

• Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves: $1.000.000.

EWC 2025 games with top prize pools (repeating the record prize pool from other tournaments):

• Apex Legends: $2.000.000;

• Call of Duty: Warzone: $1.000.000;

• EA Sports FC: $1.000.000; 

• Tekken 8: $1.000.000.

Compared to last year, several major tournament prize pools have seen notable changes.

• League of Legends: $1.000.000 → $2.000.000;

• Rocket League: $500.000 → $1.000.000;

• Counter-Strike 2: $1.000.000 → $1.250.000;

• StarCraft II: $1.000.000 → $700.000;

• Dota 2: $5.000.000 → $3.000.000;

League of Legends and Rocket League have doubled their prize pools this year, while Counter-Strike has climbed to the level of Valve Majors in terms of prize money. In contrast, Dota 2 took the biggest hit, with its prize pool slashed by $2.000.000. At EWC 2024, Dota 2 led all titles in total prize money by a wide margin. But in 2025, the highest prize pool for a single tournament is capped at $3.000.000 — a mark reached by four games: Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Honor of Kings, and PUBG Mobile.
