FNCS 2023 - Major 3: Europe is second-most watched Fortnite event this year
The FNCS 2023 - Major 3: Europe was held from July 20 to August 13 online, with the changes introduced this season being the largest to the system yet, including an updated format. It became the third-most watched Fortnite event in the series and the second most watched one in 2023, a table dominated by Fortnite Champion Series competitons.
Four weeks of intense play saw the top 50 duos with the highest cumulative Series Points on the Series Leaderboard across the three weeks qualify for the FNCS Major 3 Grand Finals. It was Russia's Putrick and SwizzY who outplayed everyone else to accrue 653 points and win the entire thing, taking home $200K out of the $910K total prize pool.
Moreover, the top ten duos from the Grand Finals made it to the Upper Bracket of the FNCS 2023 - Global Championship. However, with Poland's Kami and Setty and the pairing of Malibuca (Russia) and Th0masHD (Denmark) having already qualified, it was the two next-best teams who made the cut — Germany's Fastroki and Kylie alongside Kyry (Italy) and P1ng (Ukraine).

The FNCS 2023 - Major 3: Europe did 162K Peak Viewers on Day 2 of Round 12 of the Grand Finals, which was when the winners were finally decided. It was the latter part of this phase that made up the top five most popular stages list, showing that interest among fans drove up as the finishing line appeared on the horizon.
The FNCS now consists of three splits — Major 1, Major 2, and Major 3 — with each consisting of three weekly events that lead up to a major competition. Once here, the best players from each region will battle it out to reach an international tournament from where that year's world champions will be decided.
Looking at the languages spread of the watch hours, English and French, two significant markets for Fortnite esports, almost tied for first place, taking up more than two-thirds of the overall share. In this regard, the latter improved by around 6% from the previous split, the FNCS 2023 - Major 2: Europe.
Twitch continued to be the most preferred platform for Fortnite lovers around the world, even improving its share by a percent compared to 2022. YouTube, however, saw a tiny decline in its viewership, with Kick seeing growth as well, so it will be intriguing to see how the site's break-up shapes up at the 2023 FNCS Global Championship.

Gotaga, the retired Call of Duty esports player from France, was the most watched and popular channel. As one of the most famous content creators from his country and around the world, especially for FPS esports, the current owner of esports organization Gentle Mates continues to be a draw and help up the viewership stats of events that he covers.
Also making marks were aussieantics and mrsavage, the second and third most watched influencers. The former is a Fortnite streamer signed with Dignitas, while the latter is a Fortnite pro and content creator for 00NATION. Amar, the self-professed streamer, influencer, moderator, caster, and entertainer known for his videos on Valorant and Fortnite, was the third-most-popular handle.
There were a few other regions as well which had their third splits held around the same time as Europe, with these being North America, Brazil, Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East. It was NA that performed the best, joining its EU cousin as one of the most viewed Fortnite competitions in 2023 after notching 2.1M HW, while Brazil registered 861K HW. A more detailed breakdown of all three majors will be released soon via another article on escharts.

Looking at the most successful Fortnite events this year, the most watched one remains the FNCS 2023 - Major 2: Europe, which had 2.5% more watch hours than its successor. In fact, the three splits of the FNCS series in this region held across the year take up the first three spots on this leaderboard, with the FNCS 2023 - Major 1: Europe coming in third.
When comparing the most watched competitions of all time in the FNCS series, the FNCS 2023 - Major 3: Europe comes in the third spot. The leader in this instance is the Fortnite Champion Series: Chapter 3 Season 2 Europe, which was held in May 2022 and hit 5.6M HW.
Fortnite and the FNCS remain potent forces in the esports industry, with fans flocking from all across the globe to see their favorite e-athletes in action and to see what is new on offer for them. This time around, five new Fortnite Drops (in-game cosmetics) had been made available for audiences, including sprays, loading screens emoticons, and back blings.
These drop items usually also mean that more viewers will tune in to claim their rewards, and that is exactly what happened this time as well, helping make the third split in Europe a success. With the teams now more or less set for the FNCS 2023 - Global Championship, it remains to be seen how well it does and if it shakes up the viewership leaderboards for the discipline.
