Over 500,000 fans watch G2 Esports catapult KOI to Lower Bracket in LEC Playoffs
The LEC Winter 2023 Playoffs have kicked off with an exciting match-up. The European LoL division saw two fan favorites clash in the Upper Bracket Final. KOI and G2 Esports delivered a highly-competitive series, in which the latter came out on top with a score of 3:1.

G2 Esports had a strong start in the series, winning the first two games. After game three, it seemed like KOI could make a comeback. But they were ultimately beaten in the series’ fourth and final game. G2’s top laner BrokenBlade was crowned match MVP for his stellar performance on Gragas and Olaf. G2 has now advanced to the LEC Winter 2023 Grand Final, which will be held on February 26 at 5 pm GMT+0. However, KOI will face either SK Gaming or MAD Lions in the Lower Bracket Final on February 25 at 5 pm GMT+0. That means there’s still a chance for a KOI and G2 rematch in the final.

The LEC Winter 2023 has accumulated nearly 23 million Hours Watched so far. Previously, its most popular match was between KOI and Team Heretics at almost 490,000 Peak Viewers. Unsurprisingly, the Playoffs clash between KOI and G2 pulled in even more LoL fans. The match attracted over 500,000 PV.
Similarly, KOI and G2 are the most-watched teams in the LEC Winter 2023. Both organizations have a massive and loyal fandom. While G2’s legacy is intertwined with that of the LEC, KOI shares much of its fanbase with its owner and famous streamer Ibai. Of the other teams in the LEC, only Fnatic has surpassed the 300,000 mark in Avereage Viewers.
We’ll have to wait until Saturday to find out which team will win the LEC Winter 2023 and directly qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational and the LEC Finals 2023. Perhaps, the Grand Final will break this split’s viewership records again. Either way, LoL fans have a lot to look forward to. Once the LEC Winter concludes, the Spring split is right around the corner.
