IEM Dallas qualifiers done, remaining teams for main event decided
The four qualifier tournaments for the IEM Dallas 2024 have concluded, with the last five teams to participate in the main event now decided. The remaining participants were either invited, are partner sides, or have been at the top of the ESL World Ranking table.
These events performed better than their 2023 counterparts in terms of viewership numbers, thanks to a few reasons. The South American and European leagues emerged as two of the most successful events in the IEM Dallas series, continuing the good form shown by the discipline this year ahead of its first Major in Copenhagen.
Viewership stats of the Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2024 Qualifiers

The most successful of these four competitions was the Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2024: European Qualifier which did 1.1M Hours Watched, 115K Peak Viewers, and 63.9K Average Viewers over an airtime of 18 hours. It peaked during the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals clashes on Day 2 that saw B8 face ENCE and Metizport battle Apeks, although none of these sides eventually qualified.
At the end of the three days of action, Virtus.pro and Heroic would win their brackets to seal their spots in the main tournament. ENCE's presence was a big factor in these solid numbers thanks to the presence of a Polish-heavy line-up, with viewers from this country arriving in droves to watch their team.
Next comes the Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2024: South American Qualifier that hit 141.8K Peak Viewers during the Upper Bracket Final on Day 2 between FURIA Esports and 9z Team. Of course, apart from a place in the Grand Final being at stake, this was a showdown between Brazil and Argentina, and we all know fans lap this up no matter which part of the world they are in.
With this win, FURIA booked a slot in the main event, a good thing as this side always brings massive hype wherever it plays. While this means a healthy crowd in-person and on live broadcasts, if the side does perform well, it will only boost the viewership figures of this Counter-Strike 2 event.

Most impressively, the European and SA regions saw much higher statistics than their corresponding events from last year. While the latter saw rises of 30.1% and 28.6% in watch time and peak concurrent viewership, respectively, the latter's increases were 65.2% and 110.3%. The additions of Imperial Esports and FURIA Esports certainly helped with the spike in this latter figure, as they are two of the most followed esports organizations when it comes to CS2 in Brazil.
The other two qualifiers didn't light up the scene in terms of audience numbers, but relative to their regions, they did well enough. Moreover, the two sides to qualify for the main tournament from here, Team Liquid and the former squad of Grayhound Gaming, will bring an added level of hype to the event considering their popularity among fans.
