Romanian tournament operator PGL announced the first CS:GO major of 2022. It will run from May 9 to 22 in Antwerp, Belgium.
FParticipating teams will qualify for the major via regional RMR events, which are also to be hosted by PGL. The playoffs of the major will run from May 19 to 22 at Sportpaleis arena; fans will be allowed to attend the knockout stage matches of the event. Prize pool of the championship is $1 million.

PGL also organized the latest PGL Major Stockholm 2021, which was held in November 2021. This event became the most popular tournament of the disciplines, peaking at 2.7 million viewers during the final between G2 Esports and NAVI.
Earlier, media reported that the second major of 2022 will be organized by the ESL. The IEM Rio Major 2022 is expected to take place from October 31 to November 13.
