The 2025/26 Rainbow Six Siege esports season is still ongoing, with the Six Invitational soon approaching. However, Rainbow Six has already got plans in motion for the next season, and officially announced the calendar for their 2026/27 season. Get a jump start on newest changes, format updates, and new schedule for Rainbow Six esports throughout 2026 and early 2027.

As teams rebuild and fans look ahead, the Rainbow Six esports calendar for 2026/27 outlines a packed year of regional leagues, global events, and high-stakes qualifiers that will ultimately define the next era of Siege esports. Below, we break down what’s changing, why it matters, and every major event to watch throughout the season.

What’s changing in Rainbow Six esports for 2026/27?

  • A new, unified calendar for the whole season
  • Two global Majors to be hosted by BLAST
  • EWC is the new, official mid-season event

For the new season, Rainbow Six esports is aiming to expand opportunities for teams at all levels, making it clearer for teams to advance through the Challenger Series all the way to the Six Invitational. In other words, a move toward a fully connected, year-long competitive circuit.  Rather than isolated stages leading to single qualification moments, teams now accumulate Six Invitational (SI) Points across nearly every official event. This change rewards consistency over flash results, ensuring that teams performing well across regional leagues, Majors, and global events are properly represented at the Six Invitational.

Compared to last season when BLAST hosted one Major, the international calendar has been expanded to two global Majors. These events are positioned as defining checkpoints of the season, with lots of points to grab.

The Esports World Cup has also been formally integrated into the Rainbow Six ecosystem as a premier international event. The EWC is the official mid-season event for the 2026/27 Rainbow Six calendar, and its winner earns direct Six Invitational qualification: making it one of the most impactful tournaments of the year despite its standalone nature.

Last but not least, the Challenger ecosystem has now been unified under a single, official format. Tier-2 teams now play a more direct role in the broader competitive narrative, with clearer routes into elite events and higher visibility across the season. The regional Challenger Series takes place in February–March. The shift to earlier in the year makes room for the 26/27 regional Kickoff tournaments, which are replacing the previous global Kickoff.

Challenger Series (February–March 2026)

The season begins with the Challenger Series, a global Tier-2 competition featuring open qualifiers and regional playoffs. This stage sets the tone for the year, identifying breakout rosters and determining which teams earn entry into higher-tier regional competition.

Season Kickoff Regional (April 2026)

Compared to last season, when Rainbow Six hosted a global, cross-region Kickoff, the 2026/27 season will host regional Kickoffs instead — the first Major of the year in May will instead be the global season-opener. Featuring top teams around the globe battling it out to top their region, this event also awards SI Points and serves as an early benchmark for teams. Unlike previous opening events, the Kickoff directly impacts Six Invitational qualification, ensuring that early performances matter.

BLAST Six Major 1 (May 2026)

Part of the newly expanded format featuring two Majors a year, the 26/27 season features a season-opening Major in May. It hasn’t been announced where this Major will take place, but it will play a critical role in shaping the race to the Six Invitational, with increased points on offer at the Majors.

Stage 1 Regionals (June–July 2026)

Following the first Major, teams return to their regional leagues for Stage 1. Each match contributes SI Points, reinforcing the importance of consistency across the format. With the points system now so crucial for SI qualification, teams are under pressure to perform at the highest level possible throughout the entire year of matches.

Esports World Cup (August 2026)

Now officially the mid-season tournament for Rainbow Six esports, the Esports World Cup serves as a standalone global tournament with enormous implications. In addition to prestige and prize money, the champion secures direct qualification to the Six Invitational, bypassing the SI Points race entirely. For teams on the bubble, EWC represents both a shortcut and a massive opportunity.

Stage 2 Regionals (September–October 2026)

Stage 2 mirrors the structure of Stage 1 but carries even greater weight. With SI Points standings tightening, every match becomes critical for teams still fighting for Invitational qualification. It is also the last chance for teams to secure a spot at the second Major of the year.

Major 2 (November 2026)

The second and final Major of the season is the last chance for teams to secure SI Points before the Six Invitational. With things heating up towards the end of the season, the Major is sure to offer some exciting action with the world’s top teams. As of now, details have not been announced yet as to where this Major will take place.

Last Chance Qualifiers (December 2026 – January 2027)

Teams that narrowly miss Six Invitational qualification through points enter regional Last Chance Qualifiers, facing off against teams who also earned their spot in the LCQ through a regional open. These brutal, high-pressure tournaments offer the final tickets to the Six Invitational.

Six Invitational 2027 (February 2027)

The season culminates with the Six Invitational 2027, Rainbow Six Siege’s premier world championship. Featuring the best teams from every region, SI 2027 will crown the world champion and close out the 2026/27 competitive year. With qualification paths spanning an entire season, the Six Invitational now represents the ultimate reward for long-term excellence rather than short-term peaks.

The 2026/27 season marks a clear philosophical shift for Rainbow Six esports. By prioritizing season-long performance, global integration, and meaningful Tier-2 pathways, Ubisoft and BLAST are betting on sustainability over spectacle alone. Ideally, this will strengthen the esports’ ecosystem for years, create more exciting and healthy regions for competitions, and fill the calendar with exciting esports matches. As Rainbow Six Siege continues to evolve, the 2026/27 season could define whether the esport’s next chapter is one of stability, growth, and renewed global relevance.
