T1 makes history by winning Worlds 2025, event reached over 6.7M Peak Viewers
T1 triumphed over KT Rolster 3:2 in the 2025 League of Legends World Championship Grand Final, coming back from the brink of defeat. With the win, the organization and its iconic captain, Faker, secured a record-breaking sixth world title. The match peaked at 6.7 million live viewers, a figure just slightly lower than last year’s record-breaking event.
The final, where T1 rallied to win the last two maps, gave the tournament’s overall viewership a major boost. The match drew 72% more viewers than the next most-watched series: the semifinal between the reigning champions and China’s Top Esports.

Despite a strong final-day surge, Worlds 2025 overall fell slightly short of the previous edition. The peak viewership was only 1.5% lower than in 2024, but other key metrics saw steeper declines: average concurrent viewership dropped by 11.3%, while total watch time fell by 28.2%. These results stem largely from the revamped Play-In format, which featured fewer matches, and from the tournament’s less convenient time zone for European and North American audiences.

The peak figures across major demographics revealed notable shifts. Korean streams led the way with over 2 million Peak Viewers, setting a new record within League of Legends esports. Vietnamese audiences also reached unprecedented numbers, surpassing 1.2 million concurrent viewers, their highest to date.
Meanwhile, Chinese-language broadcasts on non-Chinese platforms showed a modest uptick in viewership, while the main English streams saw a slight 8% dip compared to last year. Spanish-language peaks, however, fell sharply by nearly half (-48.4%). Thai broadcasts joined the record-breaking trend as well, reaching 34,676 peak viewers, the country’s highest figure since Worlds 2019.
League of Legends esports also hit new global platfom viewership milestones:
-
A new YouTube viewership record for LoL esports has been set at 3,769,077 live viewers, nearly 11% higher than the previous benchmark from Worlds 2024.
- CHZZK reached a record 544,604 Peak Viewers, up from 360,979 during the Esports World Cup 2025.
- TikTok also set a new high of 433,434, more than doubling its previous record from MSI 2025.
