Top esports events by Media Value in Q1 2026
Absolute viewership has traditionally served as the baseline indicator of esports tournament success, but it offers only a partial commercial picture. An audience of the same size can carry very different value for advertisers depending on regional ad budgets, purchasing power and competition in local media markets. As a result, rankings based on raw viewership and rankings based on true sponsor appeal often do not match.
To assess the return on ad integrations, we use our own metric that combines audience scale with the monetization potential of broadcasts. This article presents the top 10 most commercially attractive tournaments of Q1 2026. The list highlights the events that delivered the greatest media value for brands over the past three months.
The Q1 2026 ranking reveals a clear pattern. Most of the top 10 spots were taken by Counter-Strike tournaments, underscoring the discipline’s strong commercial standing with advertisers. The top position, however, went to a League of Legends event, a regional competition that outperformed major international tournaments in sponsor value.

During the first quarter of 2026, nine esports tournaments generated an estimated Media Value of over $10 million, with only one event surpassing the $20 million mark. The clear leader was the LCK Cup 2026. The Korean League of Legends competition ranked among the longest-running and most-watched events by raw viewership. Its top position in media value was driven by a large and highly valuable audience concentrated in regions with strong purchasing power, particularly South Korea, North America and Western Europe.
Intel Extreme Masters Kraków 2026 secured second place. The Counter-Strike event marked a successful transition for the series following the replacement of the long-standing IEM Katowice. ESL relocated the tournament to another Polish city while preserving its established viewership base and core sponsorship value. Overall, Counter-Strike accounted for four of the top ten events. The title continues to show the fastest audience growth among tier-one esports disciplines, which directly translates into strong commercial demand.
League of Legends followed with three entries in the ranking. Alongside the LCK Cup, both the European LEC and the international First Stand tournament made the list. Notably, the regional LEC generated a higher estimated Media Value than the global First Stand event. This is largely due to First Stand’s more compact format, which limits total broadcast hours and, consequently, overall brand exposure compared to the longer LEC season.
Valorant contributed two events to the ranking. The Masters Santiago placed in the upper half, which aligns with expectations for a major international tournament featuring top-tier teams. Among regional circuits, VCT Pacific was the only league to break into the top ten. The Pacific region continues to deliver stronger viewership figures than its counterparts, resulting in higher sponsor appeal and overall media value.
The M7 World Championship for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang ranked ninth, making it the only mobile esports event in the top ten. It recorded the highest raw viewership of any tournament in the quarter. However, its media value reflects the composition of its audience. Viewership is primarily concentrated in emerging markets, which results in lower estimated advertising value compared to audiences in more established and higher-cost media regions.
