Most popular esports teams of Q2 2025
The second quarter of 2025 hosted some of the most significant tournaments of the year for various games. Every title boasted its own major event and leading team in terms of viewership; however, the leading teams might not be your immediate first guess.
Top esports teams by viewership, Q2 2025
The second quarter of 2025 was actually dominated by Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team RRQ Hoshi. The Indonesian squad is massively popular within MLBB and for Q2 2025, RRQ Hoshi was the only roster to record over 1M Average Viewers (AV) for all of their matches. For this quarter, the club generated its viewership mostly throughout the MPL, the premiere esports league for the mobile gaming title.

Ultimately, RRQ.H was unable to clinch the MPL Indonesia Season 15 championship, falling just short deep into the playoffs. Although they lost to the ultimate victors, ONIC Esports, they were instrumental in pushing the circuit to a new series record: 4.13M Peak Viewers (PV). There are plenty of more championships for RRQ.H to contest coming up, with various international events as well as the next MPL season waiting in the latter-half of the year.

Over in League of Legends, T1 dominated the global viewership for the leading esports title. Similar to RRQ.H, T1 is a fan-favorite team based within one of their esports’ strongest regions. For the second quarter of 2025, the Korean LoL team competed in their regional LCK 2025 Season. Although they were unable to secure a top result, the side still qualified for the LCK Road to MSI 2025, where they not only secured strong viewership results but also qualified for the major international tournament.
T1’s current pace at the ongoing MSI shows that they’re already set up well for a solid Q3 result. The team has already advanced well into the playoffs stages of the event, and if they can advance to the finals, they could likely help cause a new PV series record for the Mid-Season Invitational.

Finishing up the podium spots, Team Vitality asserted themselves as one of the strongest forces in Counter-Strike 2 during the second quarter of 2025. The French organization dominated the competition this quarter, only losing one single game of their 21 matches throughout the three months. Vitality kicked off Q2 with a statement victory at IEM Melbourne 2025, where they swept their way through the event to lift the trophy. Vitality maintained their high level throughout the quarter, securing more wins at BLAST Rivals Spring 2025 and IEM Dallas 2025. For the cherry on top, the team capped it all off with a Major championship, defeating The MongolZ 2-0 in the finals of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025.
Team Vitality’s competitive dominance and consistent results helped them to guarantee strong viewership throughout the quarter. With exciting, high-stakes matches against top-tier rivals like Team Spirit, MOUZ, and NAVI, the French organization emerged as the top Counter-Strike 2 team of Q2 2025. For all their matches spread across four separate events, Team Vitality maintained over half a million average concurrent viewers.

Southeast Asia’s top Valorant squad, as of now, the world’s too, Paper Rex made waves once again in Q2 2025 with a thrilling international campaign. The Indonesian club started off slow in the VCT Pacific this year, but by the time Q2 rolled around, the team was back in top form and winning matches. Although they were unable to claim victory at the VCT 2025: Pacific Stage 1 or the new Asian Champions League tournament, their luck turned around at the Valorant Masters Toronto 2025.
In the early stages of Masters Toronto, Paper Rex looked strong but not dominant: they lost 0-2 to Gen.G in the Groups and just managed an overtime win against Team Liquid to secure a playoff spot. However, once the playoffs kicked off, the Indonesian squad seemed a different beast; PRX advanced through the playoffs without losing a single map until the grand finals, where they defeated Fnatic 3-1. Paper Rex has long been chasing an international championship, and it's only fitting that they would top the viewership for the quarter when it finally happens.
Last but not least, Team Flash of Arena of Valor emerged as the next-most popular esports team for Q2 2025. The Vietnamese club has been dominant throughout the mobile esports title’s history, and this quarter saw them compete at the Arena of Glory Spring 2025. Although the team ultimately lost to Saigon Phantom in the finals, they just edged ahead of their rivals by AV.
The top esports clubs of Q2 2025 sometimes, but not always, represent the most dominant team of the quarter. For some teams with significant, dedicated followings, they were able to rank above the competition even if they were only reaching the podium places at events. Coming up in the esports world, the Mid-Season Invitational is coming to an electric close soon, and the winner of the event will surely claim a sizable boost in viewership.
