Twitch viewership in 2025 once again highlighted the enduring strength of established esports titles, particularly those supported by long-running competitive circuits and creator-led broadcasts. While newer games struggled to break through at scale, a core group of esports staples continued to dominate hours watched throughout the year.

This 2025 Esports Resullts report is sponsored by Hellcase, the world’s leading CS2 skin platform and a long-standing contributor to competitive esports communities. Twitch viewership hosts its largest bases in North America and Europe, fortified by various other international audiences. The top esports titles on Twitch reflect the most popular esports games for these audiences, which reflect the prime choices for viewers from these dominant regions. Below, Esports Charts explores the top esports games of the year on the purple platform, beginning with Rainbow Six.

#5 Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege — 34.76M Hours Watched

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege rounded out the top five in 2025, supported by a smaller but highly dedicated esports audience. International majors and seasonal league play generated noticeable spikes, with the Six Invitational 2025 once again standing out as the most-watched event of the year for the title. Its long broadcast hours and high-stakes elimination matches consistently drove engagement to reach millions of Hours Watched.

Throughout 2025, Rainbow Six Siege benefited from Ubisoft’s continued investment in regional leagues and LAN events. While its total hours watched lagged behind the top four titles, Siege demonstrated strong retention among core fans and maintained relevance as one of Twitch’s longest-running tactical shooters. Looking ahead to 2026, Rainbow Six Siege is positioned as a steady, if niche, presence within the Twitch esports landscape.

#4 Valorant — 185.1M Hours Watched

Valorant continued as one of the world’s premiere esports titles, achieving far more viewership on Twitch than Rainbow Six. A modern esports title built for streaming-first audiences, the Valorant Champions Tour enjoyed serious watch time throughout the year, with Valorant Champions 2025 serving as the most-watched event of the year for the game.

A key driver of Valorant’s success on Twitch was its deep integration with creator co-streaming. Influencers, professional players, and team-affiliated creators amplified official broadcasts, extending reach well beyond primary tournament channels. This hybrid model allowed Valorant to maintain consistent viewership even outside of major international events.

As Riot Games looks toward 2026, further expansion of regional leagues and refinement of the international circuit are expected. Valorant’s strong overlap between competitive play and creator-driven content positions it as one of the strongest esports titles on Twitch.

#3 Dota 2 — 213.09M Hours Watched

Dota 2 enjoyed strong Twitch viewership in 2025, especially concentrated around its competitive peak periods. The International 2025 remained the undisputed centerpiece of the year, accounting for a significant share of total Hours Watched — .almost 30% of the game’s yearly watch time.

Outside of The International, third-party tournaments and regional leagues contributed to viewership in waves. This included various seasons of the DreamLeague circuit, the Esports World Cup, PGL Wallachia, and many more. While Dota 2’s ecosystem may never return to its peak-era dominance, its ability to command massive attention during flagship events ensures its continued relevance on Twitch.

#2 League of Legends — 307.17M Hours Watched

League of Legends maintained its position as one of Twitch’s most reliable esports viewership drivers throughout 2025. Its global franchise system once again proved effective, delivering year-round engagement through leagues in North America, Europe, China, and South Korea. The 2025 World Championship was the game’s most-watched event of the year, producing predictable yet massive spikes in concurrent viewership. By Peak Viewers, LoL was the top esports game on Twitch in 2025

Unlike open-circuit esports, League of Legends benefits from strong narrative continuity, with long-standing rivalries and seasonal storylines carrying audiences from one split to the next. This structure translated into consistent baseline viewership even between major tournaments, and of course, encouraged strong peaks at international events.

Riot Games’ continued emphasis on regional identity and international competition is expected to preserve League of Legends’ position near the top of Twitch esports, even as audience growth stabilizes rather than accelerates.

#1 Counter-Strike — 372.65M Hours Watched

Counter-Strike was the most-watched esports title on Twitch in 2025, driven by a dense calendar of international tournaments and a deeply entrenched spectator culture. Events such as Major championships and premier LAN tournaments consistently delivered some of the strongest viewerships of the year, reinforcing Counter-Strike’s status as the platform’s dominant competitive game.

A major factor behind Counter-Strike’s success was its open tournament ecosystem, which allowed multiple organizers, teams, and broadcasters to contribute to overall viewership. Co-streams from professional players, analysts, and team-affiliated creators further expanded reach and diversified how audiences consumed events.

Most-watched esports games on Twitch

Rank Game 2025 Hours Watched on Twitch
1 Counter-Strike 2 372.65M
2 League of Legends 307.17M
3 Dota 2 213.09M
4 Valorant 185.1M
5 Rainbow Six Siege 34.76M

Looking toward 2026, Counter-Strike shows little sign of slowing down. With continued publisher support, frequent high-stakes events, and a loyal global fanbase, the title is well positioned to remain Twitch’s most-watched esport in the near future.

The 2025 Twitch esports landscape was defined by stability over disruption. Long-established titles with structured competitive calendars and strong co-streaming cultures continued to outperform newer entrants, underscoring Twitch’s role as the primary platform for legacy esports in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and beyond.
