BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 live viewership statistics

Following the results of two days of BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, G2 Esports and ENCE have already passed to the next stage, and MOUZ were the first to drop out of the tournament after losing to NiP, OG and GamerLegion. Challengers Stage at BLAST.tv Paris Major will end on May 11. 8 teams in total will qualify to the next stage (Legends Stage), where they will be joined by Natus Vincere, Heroic, Fnatic and other teams in the fight for the playoffs.

Viewer Statistics of BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 Day 1

The matches of the first day of BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 scored 5.6 million Hours Watched, which is 16.3% lower than the result of the previous major. However, the overall drop is due solely to the fact that the games were on the air 2+ hours less than on the first day of the IEM Rio Major. The average audience turned out to be almost identical (less than 1% difference).

The peak online of English-language grew by almost 100K concurrent viewers (+31%), while the peak of the Portuguese language decreased by as much as 60%. As turns out, the Brazilian spectators followed the home tournament much more actively than the event in Paris. In addition, the most popular Brazilian CS-team Imperial Esports, which played in Rio, did not qualify for the Paris championship.

Russian-language broadcasts increased the peak by 9% compared to the tournament in Rio. Interestingly, the Ukrainian-language broadcasts gathered 11 times higher peak audience, and the average broadcast audience grew almost 8 times (in the top 5 languages of the first day by Average Viewers).

Among the platforms, Twitch dominates (over 73% of total watch time). The event is also streamed on Steam TV, where the first day on average was watched by almost 80K concurrent viewers at a time, this is more than YouTube streams scored.

What has changed significantly is the peak audience of matches. Both Imperial and FURIA, two of the most popular teams from Brazil, played at the tournament in Rio. Their starting matches of the first day were watched by 650K+ concurrent spectators on the first day of the last major. In Paris, the most popular series of the first day was G2 Esports against Mongolz (over 479K Peak Viewers).
