Dota Pro Circuit 2023: Tour 3 — schedule, results, viewer statistics

May 16, 2023 5 分 読み

The third round of the Dota Pro Circuit 2023 began on the professional Dota 2 stage. Participants from six regions began the competition for ranking points and quotas for Bali Major, the last major tournament from Valve this season. Esports Charts tells about interesting features of this stage and which teams have already secured their tickets to The International 2023.

By the third round, teams have finalized their lineups, and we're unlikely to see major reshuffles (but they are possible before qualifiers) until the regional leagues are over. The first games in the regional leagues began on May 14 and the final games will end on June 5. Considering each region separately, Western Europe and Southeast Asia are worth special attention.

One of the most popular teams in Dota 2, Team Secret, has returned to Western Europe's first division. It had a difficult season, but team captain Clement Puppey Ivanov is well known for his ability to bring the team to peak form when it's needed the most. There is no doubt that with the return of Team Secret, the number of viewers in the Western European division will only increase.

The situation is similar in Southeast Asia, where BOOM Esports is back in the first division. BOOM Esports had a great season in 2022, almost unchallenged in its home league, although the Majors and The International 2022 were hardly impressive. Nevertheless, BOOM Esports remains a team with a good winning history and a decent fanbase. We'll see how its first division campaign affects the league's reach.

In the other four regions, there were no significant reshuffles among the participants. All of the most popular and successful teams remained in their places.

Current viewership statistics for each region:

The participants of the first divisions play for the quota places for Bali Major 2023. Western Europe and China will get four quotas, Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia will get three, and the rest of the regions will get two. A total of 18 teams will play in the last Major of the season.

Bali Major 2023

Bali Major takes place from June 29 to July 9 in Indonesia. The decisive matches of the tournament will take place at the Ayana Estate. The tournament traditionally features $500K and 3,500 DPC ranking points. Current viewer statistics for the Major will be available on the tournament page.

Tournament operators IO Esports and Epulze will be responsible for organizing the Major in Bali. The former company is most known for leagues for mobile tiles PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. In particular, it has hosted the M2 World Championship and the last seasons of the regional league MPL Malaysia. As for Epulze, the company has run all the stages of the current DPC 2023 season for Southeast Asia and has also covered The Lima Major 2023.

The International 2023

The International 2023 takes place from October 14 to October 29 in Seattle. The tournament will finally return to the United States after a five-year absence. The last time Seattle hosted TI in 2017, and back then Team Liquid became the champion.

TI 2023 will feature 18 teams from six regions: 12 teams will receive quotas for their DPC points, while the remaining participants will be determined in the regional qualifiers. While the number of TI participants reduced (20 teams competed last year), the format will remain unchanged: participants will start in the Group Stage, and the winner will be determined in the double-elimination bracket. Follow the tournament on the corresponding page.

After two Tours, only Team Liquid scored enough DPC points to guarantee itself a quota for the World Championship. The European team has 1,500 DPC points and ranks first in the international ranking.

The DPC ranking can change significantly in the third round, as the last Major of the season will offer more DPC points than the first two. However, mathematically, Gaimin Gladiators and Talon Esports have a pretty good chance of going to Seattle. Last year, the teams needed only 1,020 DPC points to qualify for TI
