Esports Charts and international gaming publisher MOONTON Games are happy to announce that the M3 World Championship broke viewership records in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang discipline. Two companies collaborated on the tournament as Esports Charts provided analytical services throughout the event.

New ML:BB record by Peak Viewers was reached on December 15 during the ONIC Esports PH (Philippines) vs Rex Regum Qeon Hoshi (Indonesia) match in the upper bracket semi-final. The game was watched by up to 3,191,404 concurrent viewers; the largest contribution to the record number was made by Indonesian viewers. This was 3% more than the previous record which was held by the M2 World Championship grand final. M3 also grew by 46% in Hours Watched, reaching 62.6M which is a result of rapid audience growth.

“ML:BB esports matches saw an incredible audience growth in 2020-2021. The viewers from Indonesia and the Philippines make the largest contribution to the overall numbers both during local MPL games and international events. Moonton's restream program, which involves popular community streamers, also helped M3 a lot to set a new viewership record.

We at Esports Charts are excited that the Mobile Legends scene is reaching new heights across the board. It is important for us that we help our partners to better study and understand their audience, which ultimately benefits the entire mobile esports market”.

Artyom Odintsov, CEO at Esports Charts

“Despite some environmental obstacles and challenges, the live event was held successfully in Singapore, seating up to 178 spectators per match. There were various watch parties held across the Southeast Asian nations, where many gamers filmed their experiences on the TikTok platform. We are heartened by the support of our fans, and partners”.
