The first international League of Legends LAN of the year, Mid-Season Invitational 2022, starts on May 10. For the first time since the 2018, the tournament returns to South Korea, as Busan will host the event.
11 teams, which won the most prominent regional leagues around the world this spring (including LCK, LEC, and LCS), will fight for their share of the $250,000 prize pool. The list of participants includes such well-known teams as T1, G2 Esports, Evil Geniuses, Royal Never Give Up & PSG Talon. For the first time since COVID-19 outbreak, Vietnamese team will attend the LAN with Saigon Buffalo taking part in the competition.

Reigning champions of the Mid-Season Invitational RNG won't be able to attend the venue of the event, so they will play online from home. To equal conditions for all participants, Riot decided that the event will take place in a 35 ping environment. It’s also important to note that due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the LCL will not send a representative to MSI 2022.
Busan Esports Arena will hold a Group Stage. And both Rumble and Knockout Stages will be played in Bexco Exhibition and Convention Center with live audience allowed to attend the event.

Overall, the tournament will be broadcasted in more than 15 languages on more than 42 channels. Besides the main platforms, viewers can watch the tournament on various services, like NimoTV, AfreecaTV, Trovo, Douyu, Huya and many others. The full list of broadcasts can be found here.
It is worth recalling that the previous tournament of this series became the most watched MSI in history, as it amassed 61 million Hours Watched. It also became the sixth most popular tournament among all League of Legends events. Its Grand Finals between RNG and DWG KIA gathered 1.8 million concurrent viewers, only Worlds series attracts more viewers.
