The 2025 League of Legends EMEA Championship season has wrapped up, with G2 Esports securing their thirteenth series title in the Summer Split final. Overall viewership numbers were nearly on par with last year, though peak figures fell short, as the Split final was not the tournament’s most popular match.
With organizers scrapping year-end finals, Summer 2025 served as the last tournament on the LEC calendar. The final saw group leaders KOI and G2 Esports clash, and Rasmus "Caps" Borregaard Winther’s squad came out on top with a 3:0 sweep, avenging their loss in the Spring Split. Both finalists secured spots at Worlds 2025, with the remaining EMEA berth going to Fnatic.
Overall, the tournament averaged more than 217,000 concurrent viewers, with a peak of over 473,000, more than double the average. Unlike most tier-1 esports events, however, the final was not the top draw. The biggest spotlight shone on the Lower Bracket Semifinal between Fnatic and Karmine Corp., a clash that decided the region’s final Worlds spot.
The stakes couldn’t have been higher, and Karmine Corp. rallied its massive fan base like never before, amplified through the stream of team owner Kamel "Kameto" Kebir. With a ticket to the world stage on the line, every play carried enormous weight: a factor that made this matchup the most popular game of the tournament.

French audiences played a major role in boosting the event’s numbers, helping it surpass 18 million Hours Watched. While they lagged behind English-speaking viewers in total watch time, at peak they actually pulled in slightly more live viewers: 185,621 compared to 185,180.

In 2025, the LEC saw a quadriviral dominance of teams, each also ranking among the tournament’s most popular, averaging over 250,000 concurrent viewers. Notably, the top team by average viewership pulled in more than 100,000 viewers above the fifth-ranked squad, underscoring the significant audience gap between the top four and the rest.

Compared with last year’s equivalent event, metrics were largely similar. The previous tournament ran three hours longer, allowing it to reach one million more hours watched than Summer 2025. The average concurrent viewership was only slightly lower, down around 3,000, representing a negligible overall dip.
Peak viewership, however, fell by 50,000, largely because Karmine Corp did not make the final. Their matches are usually streamed by Kameto, who draws a sizable audience. This time, with KOI in the final, comparable numbers might have been expected, but the event was not broadcast by KOI’s founder and owner, Ibai “Ibai” Llanos, resulting in lower peak figures.
