ONE Esports hosted the Mobile Legends Invitational 2021 international competition for the best ML:BB teams. According to the event results, the strongest team among all Asian regions of the discipline will be determined. The event runs from November 2nd to 7th. Twenty teams from Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, and Cambodia were invited, and the prize fund is $100K.
The group stage format is of best-of-1 matches. That means the losing team immediately lefts the tournament. Day 1 included meetings of Orange Esports vs. Alter Ego, ECHO vs. Aura Fire, EVOS Legends vs. RRQ Hoshi and Bigetron Alpha vs. GeekFam.
Most of the attention was drawn to the confrontation between RRQ and EVOS from Indonesia, as these are the two most popular teams in the region — and one of them had to leave the competition. The battle of the teams attracted more than 1.3M Peak Viewers and became the most popular on the first day! If we compare the first results of MPLI 2021 Day 1 with last year, the Peak Viewers mark increased 4x!
