PGL’s second event of 2025, the PGL Bucharest 2025, just concluded its Group Stage. The tournament enjoyed a significant amount of viewers so far, marking an uptick compared to the earlier Cluj-Napoca event this year. Esports Charts presents the viewership statistics for the Group Stage of PGL Bucharest 2025, including insights into the top teams and languages.

Over April 6-10, the PGL Bucharest 2025 Group Stage recorded 8.95M Hours Watched with a peak concurrent viewership just below 350,000. The numbers were amassed thanks to a diverse group of audiences, spanning the Americas to Asia. Mongolian and Turkish-speaking fans in particular tuned into the tournament in droves, almost matching the peak of Brazilian, Portuguese-speaking viewers, which are one of the major audiences for Counter-Strike.

PGL Bucharest 2025 Group Stage viewership statistics

Throughout the many games this week, 184,500 Average Viewers followed the action in Bucharest. With games taking place simultaneously and often overlapping, viewership generally increased as the day went on for the Group Stage, with later matches more likely to record significant peaks. The elimination match on Day 5 between The MongolZ and Team Falcons was the most singular moment of the groups, having received over 338,000 Peak Viewers.

Generally, The MongolZ enjoyed significant fan support throughout their games. The Mongolian team is a point of pride for their home country and has been instrumental in pushing the boundaries of this audience not only for Counter-Strike, but esports overall. Unfortunately, with The MongolZ ultimately eliminated by Falcons 1-2, Mongolian viewers are unlikely to maintain the same excitement for the playoffs.

PGL Bucharest 2025 Group Stage top matches peak viewers

The top matches by peak viewership for the PGL Bucharest Group Stage were all ultimately achieved thanks to massive regional followings of teams. FURIA’s game against The MongolZ was the second-top entry for the Group Stage, thanks to Mongolian viewers coming together with FURIA’s own sizeable Brazilian following. The same was true for the opening day game between Brazil’s paiN Gaming and Aurora Gaming, the new banner for the ex-Eternal Fire Turkish squad.

The Playoffs stage of Bucharest 2025 will feature top-level, internationally popular teams like G2 Esports and FaZe Clan, as well as Team Falcons and Aurora Gaming with their massive regional followings. The playoffs games for the tournament take place this weekend, coming to a close on Sunday with the grand final. Considering PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 reached over 500,000 Peak Viewers, we can well expect a similar, or even stronger result from Bucharest.
