Strong co-streaming support saw PGL Bucharest 2025 open to a higher peak than Cluj-Napoca

Following a solid start to the year with their event in Cluj Napoca, PGL are back with their second top-tier tournament for the Counter-Strike circuit this year. The PGL Bucharest 2025 opened to strong viewership on its first day, with viewers bleeding together across games as multiple matches were hosted simultaneously. In total, the first day reached over 330,000 total Peak Viewers (PV).

The strong result of the opening day was a result of a combination of factors: popular teams, loyal regional fans, and top co-streamers like Alexandre “Gaules” Borba and Vanya “StRoGo” Shurpatov all contributed to the event’s viewership. The event’s peak viewership was reached while multiple games were taking place, but the largest contributor to this peak was paiN Gaming’s match against the newly-rebranded Eternal Fire: the Turkish team recently and unexpectedly decided to sign with Aurora Gaming, keeping their previous roster but moving under a new banner.

The Turkish team attracts strong interest from Turkish-fans, of course, and paiN Gaming brought their own Brazilian fans to the game. On top of some international interest in the game, it also received the strongest Russian-language viewership of the tournament so far. While a Serbian organization, Aurora Gaming was founded by a Russian, Valerii Kharitonov, and Russian viewers may have a new interest in following the ex-Eternal Fire team now.

Brazilian squads in particular are enjoying strong co-casting viewership so far at PGL’s tournament, rocketing to the top of the tournament’s most popular teams so far.

Notably, the results of the opening days for PGL Bucharest reached a noticeably higher peak compared to the first day of their inaugural 2025 tournament, roughly 70% higher. Bucharest enjoyed significantly higher co-streaming viewership which contributed to its strong peak, all in all, its co-streaming peak reached almost 40% higher than that of Cluj-Napoca. The PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 was one of the top Counter-Strike events of the year so far, and the new ongoing tournament in Bucharest could yet reach even higher.

The ongoing PGL Bucharest Group Stage will continue until April 10, ultimately deciding the top eight teams to continue in Playoffs; the event will come to its ultimate conclusion on April 13, with the grand final beginning at 17:00 CET following a weekend of playoffs games.
