ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021 is the first major of the 2021 DPC season, spanning from March 25th to April 4th. Esports Charts shall tell you how the Major went down in Dota 2 history, which team became the most popular, and who attracted the most viewer attention.
The tournament’s three stages took place within 105 hours, making Singapore major the longest offline major in the history of Dota 2. The event reached 20M hours watched (excluding data from Chinese platforms). The major’s most popular match was the grand final between Evil Geniuses and Invictus Gaming – which was watched by 605K peak viewers.
Even though IG became the winners of the tournament, Evil Geniuses became the most popular team, their matches watched by 281K average viewers. Meanwhile, matches of IG attracted 248K average viewers.
All in all, the broadcasts were available on six platforms, with Twitch traditionally attracting the largest number of viewers – 369K. The official Twitch channel of ONE Esports became the most popular one, reaching the mark of 177K peak viewers.
The English-speaking viewers were prevalent among those found on the broadcasts, followed by the Russian-speaking ones. Aside of the main studios, the community was responsible for 13% of the English-language broadcast content (18.4% in the case of the Russian language) in terms of the hours watched. Statistically, Dota 2 is the most popular game in the CIS, and so the Russian broadcast rate is so low for a reason – that reason being the absence of Natus Vincere at the tournament.
As of now, ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021 is the second most popular Major in terms of hours watched for the entire history of Dota 2, second only to The Kiev Major 2017, which was held by the same organizers. PGL.
