League of Legends

In 2025, League of Legends once again took center stage. Worlds 2025, hosted in China, became the year’s most-watched event and the third most popular in esports history, peaking at 6.7 million live viewers (excluding Chinese platforms) as T1 claimed their record-breaking sixth world title. The event underlined Asia’s continued dominance in competitive League while drawing millions from around the world.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

Nearby in Southeast Asia, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang continued to reign as a regional powerhouse. MPL Indonesia Season 15, held in Jakarta, remains the only tournament this year to surpass the 4 million Peak Viewers mark, proving Indonesia’s unmatched enthusiasm for mobile esports and the game’s growing regional influence.

PUBG Mobile

Further west, Saudi Arabia strengthened its position as a global esports hub. The PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025, part of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, reached over 1.3 million live viewers during its finals. The event reinforced the Middle East’s emergence as a key destination for international tournaments.

Dota 2

Europe also hosted one of the year’s most memorable spectacles. The International 2025 brought Dota 2’s premier event to Hamburg, Germany, where it peaked at 1.7 million concurrent viewers during its dramatic conclusion. The return of TI to Europe delivered a strong reminder of the game’s lasting global pull.

Valorant

Meanwhile, Paris, France, once again proved itself a major esports stage, hosting Valorant’s season-ending event with 1.4 million Peak Viewers. Its production scale, packed arena, and enthusiastic local audience helped make it one of the most impressive offline events in the title’s history.

Counter-Strike

Rounding out the circuit, United States delivered a standout moment for Counter-Strike. The Austin Major in Texas saw Team Vitality face The MongolZ in a thrilling finale that drew 1.7 million Peak Viewers despite challenging time zones for Europe and Asia. It was a reminder that even with global competition intensifying, Counter-Strike’s international appeal remains as strong as ever.
