LOUD and G2 Esports advance to semi-finals — Masters: Reykjavík Day 1 playoffs overview
The first international Valorant esports season tournament, VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters Reykjavík, has started off with a play-off stage. The first two matches have already taken place: the top teams from Europe and Brazil, G2 Esports and LOUD, advanced to the semifinals of the upper bracket. Esports Charts tells you about the results of the encounters and how many viewers they attracted.
The final stage began with the match of G2 Esports vs. ZETA DIVISION. The European team directly got a slot in the playoffs, as FunPlus Phoenix, the winner of VCT 2022 Challengers Stage 1 from Europe, skipped the tournament (due to logistical difficulties related to the war between Russia and Ukraine). The Japanese team surprised everyone in the group stage, placing higher in the ranking than Fnatic and Ninjas in Pyjamas.
G2 Esports skipped their group stage matches, thus some may have doubts about the outcome of the match. But the squad maintained its status as the favorite and won the series 2-0 at ease (13-7 on Split; 13-10 on Bind). G2’s captain Oscar ‘’mixwell’ Canellas was named the most valuable player of the game.

Currently, G2 Esports vs. ZETA is the most popular match at Masters: Reykjavík, with over 525.9K Peak Viewers. And it is not surprising, because the English- and Japanese-language streams of the tournament gather the most viewers.
The match accumulated more than 1.1 million Hours Watched and attracted 443K Average Viewers.
The huge audience number of the match was reached thanks to numerous official broadcasts and streams, organized by community-casters. The official English-language stream drew the most viewers — 79.3K PV. The top five also includes Twitch and YouTube broadcasts in Japanese, as well as the channels of streamers tarik and fps_shaka.

The second match of the day was a clash between Team Liquid from Europe and LOUD from Brazil, and the latter left no chance for anyone in the local VCT Challengers Stage 1 league. LOUD hasn't competed against teams from other regions before, but that didn't stop them from winning the series 2-1 (13:10 on Icebox; 3:13 on Haven; 13:10 on Ascent). Erik ‘aspas’ Santos was named MVP.
The match between LOUD and Team Liquid lasted much longer than the first playoff game, so it amassed nearly 1.6 million Hours Watched. However, the match was less successful by Average and Peak Viewers — it was watched by about 400K AV and 480K PV.
The main stream of the match is the broadcast of the main English Valorant channel. It drew 89.2K Peak Viewers (12% more than during the match G2 vs. ZETA). The Brazilian Valorant channel and three community caster, tarik and the Brazilians Coreano and mch_AGG, are also in the top 5.
