World Series of Warzone 2023 Global Finals sets viewership record for Warzone esports
World Series of Warzone 2023 Global Finals with a prize pool of $500K — the largest one in the Warzone esports history — ended in London on September 16. The event drew over 382K Peak Viewers, making it the most popular tournament of the game, excluding streamer showmatches.
Warzone is the battle royale mode in Call of Duty. Typically, professional players from CDL teams do not compete in such tournaments, but Warzone events attract a multitude of mixes and content-creator teams. The World Series is the largest tournament series for Warzone, which started in 2022 and immediately gained high viewer interest.
This year, the WSOW Global Finals not only delighted viewers with an international LAN final at the Copper Box Arena stage but also allowed representatives from regions outside NA and EU to participate. Teams from Latin America, Australia, APAC, and MENA joined the battle for the championship title. A total of 50 teams took part in the tournament, competing in six rounds and earning points based on kills and round placements. In the end, the American team Team Biffle emerged as the champion. Team Hisoka and Team Almond, both representing North America, secured spots in the Top 3.

The most popular Warzone events
Call of Duty's Twitch and YouTube channels have become major broadcast sources for viewers of the World Series of Warzone 2023 Finals, but it's unlikely that the series would have achieved such impressive viewership numbers without co-casting from renowned content creators who participated in the finals and streamed it directly from the arena.
In total, the championship was covered on more than 250 channels on a variety of platforms, including Facebook and Kick. Only six channels peaked at over 10,000 concurrent viewers, but 60+ channels at the peak attracted over 1,000 people: it was thanks to the abundance of relatively small channels that the final result was achieved.
Of the co-streamers, the most successful in terms of viewership indicators (21.4K Peak VIewers, 70.2K Hours Watched) was Mexican streamer DeusAmirr, captain of the team that placed 4th in the final rankings: he also took the 7th place among the best player of the event by scored points.

WSoW 2023 was a true triumph for Warzone esports and significantly increased the series' viewership numbers compared to previous seasons. We will tell you more about the dynamics of the series in one of the upcoming articles.
