LVP Superliga Spring 2022 — Spanish LoL league is getting bigger as it sets new viewership record

European League of Legends esports is not only about LEC; some local leagues are also actively growing, and that applies to LVP Superliga. The league now features teams of FC Barcelona, as well as Fnatic (partnered up with Team Queso) and star Spanish streamers Ibai and TheGrefg. All this caused a huge viewership boost for the Spring split that just started.

In the first round of matches Barça eSports played against KOI, which was founded by FC Barcelona defender Gerard Pique and Ibai. It became the most watched game of the leg as it peaked at 195.7K concurrent viewers.

The league's last record was increased by over 2.5 times. It belonged to the Superliga Summer 2021 grand final between Giants and UCAM Esports Club, which had over 73K Peak Viewers.

New record was mostly achieved thanks to Ibai, whose 40-minute-long stream gathered over 156K Peak Viewers. However, the main LVP broadcasts would have set a new record by itself, as the match between finalists of the last split recorded over 90K Peak Viewers on the LVP Twitch channel.

With the help of Ibai the LVP Superliga has now roughly the same audience as the French LFL, which is also casted by popular local creators. Kamet0’s Karmine Corp entered the league last season and topped the list of the most-watched teams with over 100K Peak Viewers during the matches.

Spring split in France starts on January 12. Karmine Corp is playing against Misfits Premier in the first match, and it should be a record-breaking game for LFL, as 4-time EU LCS champion Rekkles is about to debut for Karmine on the pro scene.
