Esports players are fairly young people, and pros over 30 years old are usually considered veterans, who eventually become coaches. Esports Charts has analyzed data on active players and coaches in Dota 2 to determine their age distribution.

At the beginning of 2023, the Dota 2 esports scene is made up of players between the ages of 17 and 35. The average age of the group reviewed is 24.8 years old, with the most 24-year-old e-athletes being in the scene at the moment.

The youngest players in the scene are bzm from OG and ATF from Nigma Galaxy, each 17 years old. It should be noted that the oldest player in Dota 2 performs for a team with the self-explaining name 'OldBoys'. It's YYF, a 35-year veteran of the scene, who finished his career back in 2014, but occasionally plays in various tournaments.
We have also analyzed the ages of the coaches and found that there is no one younger than 24 years old among them. At the moment, there are the largest number of 30-year-old coaches in the scene, and the average age of the group considered is 30.4 years old. The oldest coach in Dota 2 is Heen from Team Secret (35 years old) and the youngest is Chuvash from OG (24 years old).
As you can see in the chart, the bulk of Dota 2 pro players are between the ages of 21 and 28, and they are coached by really experienced mentors who are mostly over 29 years old. At the same time, the discipline's esports scene has been receiving an influx of young players under the age of 20. All of this tells us that Dota 2 will continue to be popular in the near future.
