Aurora Gaming PH wins M7 World Championship as mobile esports reaches record viewership
Aurora Gaming PH (RORA) closed out the M7 World Championship with a dominant victory over Alter Ego in the Grand Final of what became the most-watched mobile esports tournament in history. The event set new all-time records across the entire mobile segment, both in peak concurrent viewership and total Hours Watched.
Those benchmarks were already reached before the final match began. However, the decisive series pushed the numbers even higher, reinforcing M7’s status as a turning point not only for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, but for mobile esports as a whole.

The Grand Final itself offered little in terms of competitive tension. The much-anticipated Indonesia vs. Philippines rivalry never materialised into a real back-and-forth, as Aurora Gaming PH fully controlled the series from start to finish. The matchup ended in a clean 4:0 sweep, leaving Alter Ego with no room to challenge the outcome. For Indonesian fans, the result was particularly painful. Their team once again fell to the long-standing rivals from the Philippines in MLBB esports, this time on home soil.

From a viewership perspective, the Grand Final still managed to push the tournament’s peak audience slightly higher than in the previous round, though the growth itself was relatively modest. That outcome was largely expected. Indonesian viewership declined compared to the lower bracket final, a drop that closely followed the one-sided nature of the series, while Malaysian audiences no longer had a team to rally behind. The main source of additional growth came from the Philippines, where peak viewership surpassed the one-million mark.

M7 stands as a clear culmination of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports’ long-term growth. The tournament reflected not only rising viewership, but also a mature competitive structure, stable regional ecosystems and a broadcast infrastructure capable of handling truly global scale. What once looked like a regional mobile success story has fully transitioned into a top-tier esports product.
With M7, MLBB reached a new milestone and, in the process, set a fresh benchmark for the entire mobile esports industry. The tournament raised expectations around what mobile esports events can deliver, both in audience reach and overall execution. Future events in the segment will now be measured against this standard, whether they are ready for it or not.
