The Fall Final 2024’s clash-of-titans final helped it to break BLAST Premier records

The Fall Final 2024’s clash-of-titans final helped it to break BLAST Premier records

The BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024 recently concluded with a record-breaking peak viewership to become the most popular BLAST Premier event ever. The record-setting numbers followed an extremely successful group stage, which saw the Fall Final receive one of its highest watch times ever. The final stages of the event enjoyed an increased viewership thanks to exciting match-ups, especially the grand final.

In this article, Esports Charts presents the viewership results of the Fall Final 2024, its most popular languages, platforms, and teams; together with betting brand GG.BET, we also present insights as to the popularity of teams and maps for betting with average esports viewers. We also thank DATA.BET, a leading provider of esports betting solutions, for their support in gathering game statistics.

In total, the BLAST Premier Fall Final received 12.8 million Hours Watched. The event’s most popular language was English, and Twitch outperformed YouTube Live in terms of peak concurrent viewership. A significant portion of the event’s viewership came from international support for G2 Esports, who were one of the event’s most popular teams. G2 played NAVI in the finals, who G2 was on a significant loss streak against, and fans watching them win & breaking the streak brought viewership to 899.3K Peak Viewers.

BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 Viewership results

Of course, NAVI is one of Counter-Strike’s most popular organizations too. The team was supported strongly by Ukrainian broadcasts, and the record-breaking grand final peak could only have been achieved with these two highly popular teams.

Throughout the entire event, dust2 had the most bets placed on its outcome, with more than half of the total bets placed taking place on the classic map. Dust_2 supplied some great matches at the event too; in the grand finals, G2 scraped together a 13-11 victory over NAVI on the map, lengthening their lead in the series. The final fourth map of the grand finals, Inferno, saw viewership reach its peak as G2 Esports confidently defeated NAVI and claimed the trophy.

Before we take a deeper dive into the event’s players and teams, let’s compare the viewership for this recent seasonal final to the other most popular BLAST Premier tournaments on record. In our previous coverage of the Fall Final 2024, we highlighted the strength of the 2021 result, and theorised that this year’s Fall FInal was unlikely to break this record. Nevertheless, the Fall Final 2024 reached a high enough viewership in its final map to become the most popular BLAST Premier tournament ever.

BLAST Premier Top events by peak viewers

The Fall Final 2024 far outperformed expectations. The Spring events earlier this year were able to reach the highest viewership for BLAST Premier since 2022, but the 2024 Fall Final has gone even further by overtaking the 2021 event. The Fall 2021 Finals were a prime time for esports broadcasting, in the midst of the pandemic and with many organizers cancelling their events altogether. That year’s event was able to reach 861.4K PV, which seemed a peak that would be unreachable without this pandemic boost to the livestreaming industry.

The recent 2024 event was able to become the most popular BLAST Premier event ever thanks to the ever-growing reputation of BLAST as an event organizer for Counter-Strike esports, and the combination of popular world-class teams which faced off in the event’s playoffs stage. With this in mind, explore some statistics by the event’s winning team, and the MVP of the entire event.

BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 top team and player

G2 Esports claimed the trophy at the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024. The team finally broke their losing streak against NAVI, and earned their second event win of the year. G2 was the most popular team of the event by a myriad of factors: they were the most-mentioned team in Twitch Chat, they were the most bet-on team for the entire event, and they were the second most-watched team by average viewers. Ukrainian opposition NAVI were able to snatch this top spot away, earning a significant chunk more viewership than G2 in the average viewers metric.

G2’s m0nesy was the event’s MVP. Not only was he the top-rated player in terms of kills, opening kills, and clutches, but he was also the most bet-on player. The Counter-Strike fanbase clearly has faith in m0nesy’s abilities, and his dominant grand final performance was proof of why he receives the most bets of any player.

BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 most popular teams

Not only was G2 Esports the most bet-on team by a raw total of bets, but they also had the most money placed upon their chances at the event. Teams like Team Spirit and Team Liquid saw many bets placed for them, but not many high-value bets, whereas NAVI and FaZe Clan had higher value bets placed on their games. Team Vitality were noticeably underrepresented in the betting department, despite the team achieving 3rd at the event, tied with FaZe Clan.

In terms of raw popularity, Team Spirit was the dark horse of the table. The organization received 20.19% of total bets placed, but only was mentioned 8.9K times in Twitch Chat throughout the event. This result contrasts against the tens of thousands enjoyed by other top competitors, who were both popular in Twitch Chat and also highly bet-on.

The BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 was strongly watched throughout its entire run. The event opened to the highest group stage viewership a Fall Final had seen, and the peak viewership of its grand final has set a new bar for other BLAST Premier events to aim for. The ideal match-up in finals was a significant driver of the event’s peak, and the storyline of G2 finally defeating NAVI was another motivator to get fans to tune in.
