The third event of the BLAST Slam series took place during early May in Copenhagen, Denmark. The event series is quickly building up to be a part of Dota 2’s global viewership, and the third iteration continued the trend of new viewership records for each Slam.

The BLAST Slam series is BLAST’s entrance to the Dota 2 scene. The inaugural Blast Slam I just about broke 200,000 Peak Viewers for its grand final, the second event came close to 280,000, and now, the Blast Slam III achieved 293,702 Peak Viewers. This peak viewership was recorded for the event’s grand final, which saw Tundra Esports defeat Team Falcons 3-1. This victory marks the second BLAST Slam title for Tundra Esports; the team were also victorious at BLAST Slam II, defeating Gaimin Gladiators in the finals.

With each iteration, the BLAST Slam’s audience grows and grows. The series started off low compared to other major Dota 2 events happening at the end of 2024, but BLAST Slam has slowly been closing the gap. BLAST committed to hosting 8 separate Slam events through 2026, so they have five more events over the next couple of years to grow into a major third-party tournament.

The million-dollar BLAST Slam series is already a significant part of the Dota 2 circuit, if it can continue its natural growth, it could soon be one of the most significant third-party events for the title.
